👉👉 DISABILITY ASSESSMENT BACKLOG IN MÁLAGA CONTINUES INTO ITS THIRD YEARS!
⏳The backlog at Málaga’s disability assessment centre continues, causing frustration among users, many of whom have been waiting more than THREE YEARS FOR THEIR CASES TO BE PROCESSED.
⚠️ Those affected insist that these delays mean they are “losing rights”, as they are prevented from accessing:
💶 Benefits and financial assistance, tax reductions, grants
💼 Employment opportunities
🅿️ Disabled parking permits (Blue Badge).
📈 “The situation is terrible,” says the spokesperson for the *Málaga Accessible Platform*, who describes it as “a silent problem that is happening constantly.” The issue is far from new and, rather than improving, it is getting worse.
📋 Sources close to the assessment centre report that the waiting list continues to grow. Some applications are given priority, particularly the most serious cases, including:
🚑 Stroke survivors, cancer patients
🎗️ People living with ALS,
🚸 Children.
🚨 However, the spokesperson states that “Málaga has the worst delays in the whole of Andalusia” According to the figures available, the average waiting time is three years.
🗓️ Some cases taking even longer, while the average wait elsewhere in the region is around two years.
📜 The law sets a maximum processing period of six months, making the current delays particularly concerning.
