Some Mother’s Days feel a little extra special 💛

Today we spent UK Mother’s Day at Donkey Dreamland Mijas, where every visit helps support their rescue donkeys.

First we met the animals and heard their stories — many of them rescued from difficult situations. There were plenty of hugs, gentle strokes, and very sweet donkey moments along the way.

Afterwards, the team had prepared the most charming surprise: a proper British-style tea party with sandwiches, cakes, and even a live .a.p.a.s_choir singing in the background.

It was one of those days that just leaves you feeling full in the best possible way.

Sometimes all you need for a great family plan is a really good playground — and Parque Litoral is a great example.

Right in the middle of the park is the star of the playground — a big hill where locals have come up with a very creative way to have fun: sliding down on pieces of cardboard. Simple idea, huge fun… and yes, it can get a little messy 😉

The playground is divided into three areas by age, with slides running down the hill and climbing nets kids can use to make their way back up again.

The park also includes a sports court, an outdoor gym area, and plenty of green spaces for playing and relaxing.

📍 Parque Infantil Litoral, Málaga

🕐 Open: 8:00–22:00
👶 Great for all ages & a family day out
🌳 Spacious park surroundings
🛝 Large climbing structures and slides
🅿️ Easy parking nearby

🍽️ Lunch recommendation: — local favourite for tapas & sushi

📌 Save this for your next family outing in Málaga — and follow us for more playground inspo 💛

Museo Interactivo de la Música - Málaga (MIMMA) feels like a playground for music 🎶

It’s a museum where kids don’t just learn about instruments and the history of music — they actually get to try them.

While most of the museum is for looking and discovering, there are special red rooms designed for exploring sounds. Here, kids can tap rhythms on drums, experiment with keyboards, and discover how music actually works.

Our visit quickly turned into a lively, playful experience — with curiosity taking over and the whole museum filling with sound.

📍 Museo Interactivo de la Música (MIMMA), Málaga

🕑 Open: Mon 10:00–16:00 • Tue–Sun 10:00–19:00 (Summer slightly later)
🎟️ Tickets: Adults €6 • Children €4

Today we’re taking you a little beyond Costa del Sol — to a playground that’s absolutely worth the day trip.

About 2 hours from Málaga, Parque Ciudad de los Niños feels less like a normal playground and more like a little adventure world for kids.

Wooden castles, towers and bridges to climb. Giant slides to race down. And one of the most unique parts — small lakes where kids hop across stepping platforms and wooden paths to tiny “islands”.

It’s the kind of place where kids usually end up a little wet from all the water fun. So bringing spare clothes is definitely a good idea 😉

📍 Parque Ciudad de los Niños, Jaén

👶 Who is it for? Toddlers, school-age kids and adventurous climbers.
🌳 Vibe: Spacious, green and relaxed, with shady paths and benches for parents.
💧 Water fun: Small lakes and stepping platforms make it feel like a little adventure island.
🧺 Picnic spot: Plenty of grassy space for blankets and family picnics.

🚗 About 2 hours from Málaga — and honestly worth the day trip. It’s one of those playgrounds kids talk about long after the visit
🅿️ Easy parking nearby.

Some kids spent their school break learning new tricks — and quietly building confidence they didn’t even know they had 💥

We visited the MoversParkour camp over the holidays, and what stood out wasn’t just the jumps and flips. It was the determination, and the proud smiles after every “I did it.”

We asked the coach why every child should try parkour at least once.

His answer?
🤸 Because it’s super fun.
✨️ Because it’s much safer than it looks.
🧘 And because it helps kids connect with their bodies in a powerful way.

Over time, that body awareness turns into something bigger: better coordination, more confidence, and stronger emotional regulation.

It’s not just about jumping over obstacles.
It’s about learning how to move through them 💛

Oh, what a fun and clever little spot for kids we found in Las Lagunas de Mijas!

📍 Parque de educación vial de Mijas, Las Lagunas
🚴‍♂️ A mini traffic city where kids learn while they play

🚦 What’s special?
This space features a road safety education circuit designed at child-scale with traffic signs, painted “streets,” mini roundabouts and realistic markings. Kids can zoom around on bicycles, scooters, trikes or just run and play — learning road rules while having fun.

👶 Who is it for? Perfect for toddlers (1–3) and young kids up to early school age
🌳 Vibe: bright, safe mini-city in the town centre, with benches — easy to supervise and relax
☕ Bonus: just next to it — we recommend churros, shakes, and sandwiches if you’re hungry 😋

👉 Save this for your next family outing in Mijas 💛 — tiny streets, big smiles!

Sometimes the best family plans are simple:
A great playground for the kids — and proper food for the whole family 💛

Parque Forestal Los Tres Jardines is one of those playgrounds that works beautifully for both little climbers and teens. And just up the hill? A little bonus…

We couldn’t recommend the Thai food at enough. The chef is truly passionate about Thai cuisine, and you can feel the care behind the menu. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with lovely elevated views — yet it’s still just minutes from the playground.

📍 at Mana Park / Parque Forestal Los Tres Jardines, San Pedro Alcántara

🥢 Thai food worth coming back for
⛰️ Elevated views from the restaurant
🌳 Big playground space
👨‍👩‍👧 Perfect combo for an easy family plan

It’s not every day you get to join a friendly confetti fight in the middle of the street — and it turned out to be one of the most fun, carefree carnival traditions we’ve experienced 💛

Yesterday’s “Battle of Confetti” in Marbella was pure joy for kids (and honestly, for adults too!) 🎉

Everyone got their fair share and ended up completely covered from head to toe — one of those moments that feels a little bit magical and very hard to forget.

And the best part? Carnival celebrations are still happening across the coast over the coming weeks — so there’s still time to join the fun.

👉 Find all Carnival details in the Events section on our website, and follow us for more family fun on the Costa del Sol.
