Lads, we all struggle from time to time.

We all get dark days where we feel the whole world is against us, where we feel we can't do anything right, where nothing is going our way.

BUT, if you're struggling today, remeber this;
You have survived everything you've gone through up to this point.
This is only temporary, there are still people you haven't met, and things you haven't experienced yet. You can do this!
The best days of your life are still yet to come.

It's really important that when you are having a bad day, just to talk to someone.

Stop worrying about your speed. Forward is forward.

The one certainty is that we’re all travelling in our own lane doing our own thing.

But do you worry about how fast you’re going? Or the progress you’re making compared to others?

Focus on how far you’ve come.
Whether that’s baby steps or huge strides. It can be easy to dismiss your achievements and think about what you’re still yet to do. Acknowledge and Celebrate Progress!

Just keep moving forward.Find your pace and enjoy the ride!

THIS 🙌🏼👏🏼

Grew up on the tough street's of Merseyside, suffered bad with depression in his early life and at one point decided to take his own life, the only reason he survived and is still with us is the fact the rope snapped.

He is teetotal (doesn't drink) and is also dyslexic, because of this he relies on his wife Hannah to read his scripts to him to help him decide if he wants the role or not.

Has been in Sn**ch, Boardwalk Empire, The Irishman, Public Enemies, Line Of Duty, Peaky Blinders, Little Boy Blue, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Gangs Of New York and so many more.

An inspiration to ANYBODY who is going through a difficult time right now so please keep going ❤

Sometimes all you need is for someone just to be there, to just listen. Not to try fix anything, offer alternatives or try to solve your problems, but to just be there...knowing there is somone who cares makes all the difference.
An ear that listens can be medicine for a heart that hurts

What is the Negativity Bias?
The negative bias is our tendency not only to register negative stimuli more readily but also to dwell on these events. Also known as positive-negative asymmetry, this negativity bias means that we feel the sting of a rebuke more powerfully than we feel the joy of praise.

You will have experienced negativity bias if you’ve ever dwelled on:

🔸The one thing you forgot to say in a meeting versus all that you remembered.
🔸The one bit of critical feedback versus the many positive ones.
🔸The one time someone let you down versus the many they didn’t.
🔸The one thing your partner did wrong or forgot over the many things they did right or remembered.
🔸All that could go wrong if you take a chance, versus all that might go well.

The negativity bias can take its toll on your mental health if left unchecked.

Being mindful of what is and isn’t important in your life, and, focusing on valuing and appreciating ALL aspects can be really helpful to bring the balance back in your mind.

Becoming more self-aware of every aspect of your day, and having more self-compassion when things are tough are both instrumental in cultivating a more content way of life.

Men have mental health issues too!

The more we can normalise men’s mental health issues, the more men will speak up and refer to mental health services

Stigma is one of the biggest barriers to accessing support for mental health. Let's end the Stigma together 💪🏼

Positive thinking, or an optimistic attitude, is the practice of focusing on the good in any given situation. It can have a big impact on your physical and mental health.
That doesn’t mean you ignore reality or make light of problems. It simply means you approach the good and the bad in life with the expectation that things will go well in the end.
But what if you’re naturally more pessimistic, meaning that you tend to expect the worst?
It may help to see this positive thinking as a skill you can learn and benefit from, rather than a personality trait you either or don’t.
Before you put positive thinking into practice, look for any negative thoughts that may be running through your mind. When you notice a negative thought, try to stop it and shift your focus to the positive.
Your negative thoughts won’t go away overnight. But with practice, you can train yourself to have a more positive outlook. Remember, you aren’t overlooking the facts. You’re just including those that are good.
Be positive. Your mind is more powerful than you think. Fill yourself with positive things.”

How's your head today? 🧠
Checking in with a family member or a friend if they seem a little off could make all the difference. Even if you’re very worried about a loved one’s mental health, it can be very daunting to think about broaching the subject with them. These are some general tips that might help you when you are preparing to have that conversation;
• Make sure you’re prepared
• Choose the right time and setting
• Start the conversation in an open way
• Let them know that you are listening
• Listen without judgement
• Help them to figure out their next steps
• Be patient
• Follow up
& •Take care of yourself
That may sound odd but if you’re not feeling emotionally strong yourself, you may find hard supporting someone else...
It might not seem like much asking someone ‘how have you been recently?’ but that question alone shows a person that they’re cared for. That they’re important. It’s a simple question and asking someone about their mental health, and being the first person to broach the topic, could very well be the push that they need to reach out.... So how's your head today?

Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience.
Let's keep showing our support for Men's Mental Health bu supporting & sharing MMH Marbella to keep raising awareness.
