Today, participants from Llanero Solidario’s social inclusion projects took part in a regional conference, where they had the opportunity to share their perspectives, experiences, and ideas.

Many of the women attending are migrants whose resilience, knowledge, and active participation remind us why creating inclusive spaces is so important. When women are given the opportunity to be heard, they become powerful agents of change within their communities.

At ReRootED, we believe that social entrepreneurship starts with empowerment, participation, and confidence. By strengthening skills and encouraging active citizenship, we help women build networks, create opportunities, and shape a more inclusive future for all.

🧵 Every stitch tells a story. Every creation builds confidence.

At Llanero Solidario, migrant women participating in our textile reuse and sewing training project are doing much more than learning new skills.

Through creativity, teamwork and sustainable textile practices, they are strengthening their confidence, developing new competencies and creating opportunities for a better future.

Sewing is not only about making clothes. It is about rebuilding self-esteem, sharing experiences, supporting one another and discovering new possibilities for personal and professional growth.

At ReRootED, we believe that empowering women means creating spaces where they can learn, connect and unlock their full potential.

Every thread weaves resilience. Every stitch creates new opportunities. 🪡💚

🌍 We don’t all come from the same place, but we are building the future together.

At EcoHabitat, a labour integration project run by the Spanish organisation Llanero Solidario that provides training in the construction sector, participants from different countries took part in a group activity exploring diversity, identity and the value that every person brings to the team.

Each participant decorated a wooden block with the flag of their country and words that represent their story and values: effort, respect, adaptation, hope, joy and perseverance.

The reflection behind the activity was simple, yet powerful:

🏡 When we renovate a house, we don’t just repair walls. We create a place where people can live, grow, rest and feel safe.

People also go through periods of transformation.

Just like in construction, no strong building stands on a single brick. Every piece is different, and it is precisely those differences that make the whole structure stronger.

At ReRootED, we believe inclusion is built in the same way: by recognising each person’s strengths, experiences and potential.

Because we are not only transforming spaces. We are also building opportunities, confidence and a shared future. 💚

Entrepreneurship begins long before a business idea takes shape. It starts with confidence, connection, and the courage to create. 🌸

For many women, experiences of forced migration, trauma and uncertainty mean that confidence, emotional wellbeing and stability come before business planning.
Our discussion highlighted the importance of:
🌱 building self-confidence and empowerment before encouraging entrepreneurial risk;
📚 providing accessible and practical information on legal and administrative procedures;
🤝 combining technical training with human support, mentoring and cultural mediation;
💬 recognising that entrepreneurship should be a possibility—not an obligation—for women's social and economic inclusion.
These insights will contribute to the development of our project's training resources, helping us design learning pathways that are more inclusive, realistic and responsive to women's lived experiences.
Because supporting entrepreneurship also means supporting people.

The cheapest way to test an idea is not advertising. It is listening.

This is one of the key lessons explored in a new ReRootED learning module. The exercise is part of a learning module that is currently being refined through the ReRootED curriculum development process.

Participants are introduced to the story of Asma Khan, founder of Darjeeling Express, who recognised the talent and potential of migrant women whose skills were often overlooked by traditional employment systems.

But the module does not stop at inspiration.

It offers a practical tool called Five Conversations. Before investing time, money, or energy into an idea, participants are encouraged to speak with people around them and ask:

• What is difficult right now?
• How do you currently solve it?
• What frustrates you?
• What would make things easier?

The goal is not to pitch an idea. The goal is to understand real needs. Sometimes, five conversations can teach more than five months of planning.

What do a kitchen, a Telegram group, two free evening hours, and baking skills have in common?

In one of the new ReRootED learning modules, currently undergoing internal review by project partners across Europe, we explore them as forms of Hidden Capital.

Many people think entrepreneurship starts with funding.

But meaningful initiatives often begin with something much closer:
✔ skills
✔ relationships
✔ community trust
✔ life experience
✔ access to people and spaces.

One of the practical exercises in the module helps participants identify resources they already possess but rarely recognise as assets.

Because people rarely start from zero.

They often start from resources they have not yet named.

Behind every meaningful framework, there is a process of listening, exchanging ideas, questioning assumptions, and building together. 🌱

Over the past months, the partners of the Rerooted Project have been working collaboratively on the development of the project’s frameworks, creating spaces for reflection, creativity, and shared learning.
Through brainstorming sessions, discussions, and continuous dialogue between partners, we have been shaping tools designed to support young migrant women in their paths of self-leadership and empowerment. Each framework reflects not only research and methodology, but also the diversity of perspectives, experiences, and ideas brought by the consortium.

This process reminded us that designing inclusive and empowering practices is never a solitary task: it grows through collaboration, openness, and the willingness to learn from one another. ✨

Most entrepreneurship programmes start from content.
We started from conditions.

Many migrant and displaced women don’t arrive ready to learn – they arrive while managing stress, uncertainty, and the pressure of rebuilding their lives.

This changes how training should be designed.

Within ReRootED, we are developing a programme where business skills, emotional wellbeing, and trauma-informed practice are not separate topics, but part of one system.

Because in this context, entrepreneurship does not start from an idea.
It starts from stability.

🌱 The ReRootED website is live — and we are happy to share one of our first stories: the launch of the ReRootED brand identity.

The ReRootED visual identity reflects the heart of the project: supporting migrant women in rebuilding confidence, reconnecting with their inner strength, and growing new roots in their new environments.

Through warm colours, organic elements, and a human-centred visual language, the brand helps us communicate the values of resilience, belonging, emotional wellbeing, and social entrepreneurship.
