🏡 What students learn at school sticks best when it continues at home. That’s why, alongside our lesson plans, we’re introducing the Circular School Guide to families, and schools too.

Its Guidance for Families section is full of simple, practical ways to turn circular economy ideas into everyday habits.

It covers food (organising the fridge, composting, reading eco-labels) and technology (looking after your devices so they last longer). Students and families are encouraged not just to manage waste, but to reduce it in the first place. 💚

The Circular School Guide was created to help schools and families bring circular thinking into the classroom, the canteen, the home and the wider community.

ICCEE 2026 | From European cooperation to lasting impact

On 30 September, Madrid became a meeting point for European dialogue, knowledge and action on the future of Circular Economy in Education.

Hosted at the European Parliament Liaison Office in Spain, the International Conference on Circular Economy in Education (ICCEE) brought together educators, students, families, researchers, experts, public institutions and European organisations for a full day of exchange, reflection and discussion.

For EDU.CIRCULAR, this was a particularly meaningful milestone.
After two years of cooperation across seven European countries, the conference provided an opportunity to bring together the experiences, results and lessons developed throughout the project and place them in a wider European conversation.

Throughout the day, we explored how Circular Economy can become part of everyday educational practice through the High-Level Policy Debate, the Whole School Approach, innovative digital tools, the Circular Schools Guide, teacher engagement, student participation and the involvement of families and local communities.

The discussions, contributions and connections created during the conference showed the importance of continuing to build bridges between education, research, policy and practice.
EDU.CIRCULAR may be reaching the end of its funded period, but its work does not end here.

We want the resources and methodologies developed through the project to reach more schools, support more teachers and engage more young people across Europe — while allowing each educational community to adapt them to its own reality.

Back to school, back to circular habits! 🎒♻️
A new school year is a great opportunity to make sustainability part of our everyday routine — in the classroom, on the way to school and beyond.
Small actions can make a real difference: reuse notebooks and school supplies before buying new ones, bring a reusable bottle and lunchbox, walk, cycle or use public transport when possible, share or exchange books and materials, reduce unnecessary printing, and remember to switch off lights and devices when they are not needed. 🌱
Sustainability at school is not only about recycling. It is about rethinking how we use resources, reducing waste and making better choices together.
This school year, let’s make circular thinking part of everyday school life. 💚🏫

What if learning about sustainability didn’t have to mean another lecture?

Our Circular Guide includes activities that families can try together. ♻️

From a Waste Sorting Challenge and a DIY Repair Afternoon to Creative Upcycling, a No-Buy Weekend, and a Food Rescue Challenge, the guide helps children discover how small, everyday choices can make a difference.

The activities require little preparation and are designed around creativity, problem-solving and reflection — making sustainability practical, meaningful and fun. 🌍✨

📑 Dissemination and student engagement are at the heart of our project, and we love seeing how our activities spark long-term impact beyond our international meetings!

Valeria Bezverhi, a student from Rae Gymnasium who took part in the student training during our Budapest gathering, carried that inspiration forward into her academic work. She completed a research project titled "Circular Economy and Youth: The Erasmus+ EduCircular Experience" and successfully defended it spring 2026! 👏🎉

This work is a wonderful example of how hands-on experiences in the Edu.Circular project empower young people to dive deeper into circular economy topics and increase the visibility of our shared goals within their local communities.

Congratulations on this fantastic achievement and for helping lead the way for youth in circular education! 💚🌱

🌍 The 3rd EDU.CIRCULAR Newsletter is Now Available!

We are pleased to share the 3rd Newsletter of our Erasmus+ EDU.CIRCULAR project.

This issue highlights some of the key developments and outcomes of our project, including the newly available Circular School Guide, designed to support schools and families in integrating circular economy principles into everyday life. The guide offers practical ideas, hands-on activities, implementation strategies, and inspiring good practices from across Europe.

We are also excited to announce that the EDU.CIRCULAR Moodle Platform is now open, bringing together the educational materials and digital tools developed throughout the project and making them accessible to students, teachers, and families.

Looking ahead, the ICCEE – International Conference on Circular Economy in Education will take place on 30 September 2026 in Madrid, bringing together experts, educational institutions, and policymakers to explore the future of circular economy education and sustainability.

We are proud to contribute to Erasmus+ cooperation and to be part of a European community working together to empower young people, promote sustainability, and build more circular and resilient schools.

🇮🇹 Il progetto Edu Circular si avvia alla sua fase conclusiva!

Dal 27 al 29 settembre, il partenariato di Edu Circular si riunirà a Madrid per l'evento finale di progetto, un'importante occasione per fare il punto sui risultati raggiunti, condividere le esperienze maturate e definire gli ultimi passi verso la conclusione delle attività.

Gli incontri si terranno presso gli uffici del coordinatore di progetto, Mad For Europe, e presso il CIEC Madrid (Circular Economy Innovation Center), centro di riferimento dedicato alla promozione dell'innovazione e dello sviluppo sostenibile attraverso iniziative nell'ambito dell'economia circolare.

Sarà un momento di confronto e collaborazione per valorizzare il lavoro svolto insieme e consolidare l'impatto del progetto.

🇬🇧 The Edu Circular project is reaching its final stage!

From 27 to 29 September, the Edu Circular partnership will gather in Madrid for the project's final event. This important meeting will provide an opportunity to review the project's achievements, share experiences and best practices, and discuss the final steps towards the successful completion of the project.

The meetings will take place at the offices of the project coordinator, Mad For Europe, and at CIEC Madrid (Circular Economy Innovation Centre), a leading centre in Madrid dedicated to promoting innovation and sustainable development through initiatives in the field of the circular economy.

The event will be a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration, celebrate the project's outcomes, and reinforce its long-term impact.

🍳 What if cooking a meal could be a lesson in taking care of the planet?

At Edu.Circular, we believe sustainability starts in everyday life. That's why we developed a hands-on lesson where students cook a real dish - and rethink every choice they make along the way.

With this, students explore what truly makes a dish sustainable: local and seasonal ingredients, energy-efficient cooking, minimising food waste, and composting scraps.
