Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of hosting the 57th Jiménez Díaz Memorial Lecture, sharing the full lectures and interviews with our award recipients, bringing you news about some of the world’s most prominent researchers, and making books and other educational materials available to you.

Since 1969, the Conchita Rábago Foundation has organized one of Spain’s most prestigious scientific conferences, which honors the careers of researchers and physicians whose contributions have transformed medicine and biomedical research.

We look back on the 54th Jiménez Díaz Memorial Lecture, held on May 18, 2023, during which we had the honor of paying tribute to Dr. Katalin Karikó.

The scientist, recognized worldwide for her contributions to the development of messenger RNA-based therapies, delivered the keynote lecture “Developing mRNA for Therapy,” in which she reviewed the scientific journey that has revolutionized modern medicine.

Recordamos la LIV Lección Conmemorativa Jiménez Díaz, celebrada el 18 de mayo de 2023, en la que tuvimos el honor de homenajear a la Dra. Katalin Karikó.

La científica, reconocida mundialmente por sus contribuciones al desarrollo de las terapias basadas en ARN mensajero, impartió la conferencia magistral “Developing mRNA for therapy”, en la que repasó el camino científico que ha permitido revolucionar la medicina moderna.

We are sharing this interesting interview with Juan Carlos Izpisúa Belmonte, a member of the Executive Committee of the Jiménez Díaz Memorial Lecture and the recipient of the 50th Jiménez Díaz Memorial Lecture in 2018.

In the interview, the researcher discusses some of the most recent advances in cell reprogramming and aging, a field in which his contributions have been fundamental in opening up new avenues for biomedical research.
