The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture ( ) has announced the implementation of measures to halt perennial green fodder cultivation in the Kingdomโ€™s sedimentary-shelf regions and support the transition towards seasonal fodder cultivation.
According to the Ministry, perennial fodder consumes approximately 32,000 cubic metres of water per hectare annually, compared with no more than 9,000 cubic metres for seasonal fodder.
This transition carries wider implications for food security, agricultural investment and international forage trade. Opportunities for international suppliers will depend on regulatory compliance, nutritional quality, traceability, reliable supply and resilient logistics.

Saudi Arabia continues advancing the second year of Riyadhโ€™s Real Estate Balance Program, supporting access to developed and properly planned residential land.

The program aims to make available between 10,000 and 40,000 residential plots, at prices not exceeding SAR 1,500 per square metre, as part of a five-year implementation framework.

Applications will be accepted from 16 August to 15 September 2026 through the Real Estate Balance Platform:
