From the 12th to the 19th of January we had the honor to participate as guest country in the Directors Meeting of America 2020 in Paraguay, along with the committees of IAAS MEXICO, IAAS Ecuador, IAAS Panama,IAAS Guatemala, IAAS United States, IAAS Portugal - Associação Internacional de Estudantes de Agricultura and IAAS PERU.
During the event we visited a variety of companies dedicated to the agricultural and livestock sector, such as El Desafio, rice productor; Trociuk Industrial Plant, juice productor; Estancia Golondrina, which develops agricultural, forestry and conservation activities; Lauro Raatz S.A, mate grower, and the second biggest dam in the world, Itaipú Binacional, managed equally between Paraguay and Brasil.
This DMA could not be missing the traditional Trade Fair, where we could get to know and try the culture and gastronomy of all the countries attending to the event. The Development Fund also took place, presented by a member of our committee, so money could be raised to help IAAS members with economic difficulties.
Activity reports from every country where presented during the GA’s, which led us to keep improving from IAAS Spain, and to implement new activities locally and internationally. In addition to that, we got the opportunity to propose and discuss new ideas in the different projects that are being carried out internationally inside IAAS.
We are forever grateful to IAAS Paraguay for giving us the opportunity to be part of this , and for showing us the culture of South America’s heart, both inside and outside the agronomic industry. We also want to thank each and every single one of the participants of the event for making of this trip one of the most memorable events we have been able to attend. The friendships and contacts that were created in Paraguay will be everlasting.
