Statement
14 October 2026 - I am deeply concerned by reports of attacks on airports and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Attacks on civilian infrastructure and the killing of innocent civilians are unacceptable.

All demands and problems must be resolved through dialogue, not through violence, attacks, killings or destruction. I have already appealed to Yemen’s Houthis to choose the path of peace. The people of Yemen and the world want peace. An immediate ceasefire is needed. In this technologically advanced 21st century, conflict, violence and war must become things of the past.

The people of Yemen have suffered years of conflict, killings and displacement. All parties must respect their wish for lasting peace.

I have repeatedly offered my mediation to bring all parties to the peace table, both within Yemen and beyond its borders. Peace is beautiful. War brings no lasting victory, and the power of arms is temporary.

Through my Global Peace 2030 agenda, I hope Yemen will soon declare itself a Peaceful Nation, affirming its commitment to the path of peace.

All demands and problems must be resolved through dialogue, not through violence, attacks, killings or destruction. I have already appealed to Yemen’s Houthis to choose the path of peace. The people of Yemen and the world want peace. An immediate ceasefire is needed. In this technologically advanced 21st century, conflict, violence and war must become things of the past.

The people of Yemen have suffered years of conflict, killings and displacement. All parties must respect their wish for lasting peace.

Following the official visit to the Republic of South Sudan, on 15 September 2026, President Mr. Sappan KC Hum held an official meeting with His Excellency Emmanuel Adil Anthony, Governor of Central Equatoria State,, at the Office of the Governor in Juba. The meeting formed part of President KC’s official peace mission to the Republic of South Sudan.

During the meeting, President KC formally presented his Special Proposal for the Declaration of Central Equatoria as a State of Peace and Juba as a City of Peace, with a Roadmap Towards 2030.

His Excellency Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony accepted the proposal and declared Central Equatoria a “State of Peace.” This declaration represents an important public commitment to peace, reconciliation, dialogue and non-violence, with the relevant state institutions expected to advance the formal adoption and implementation process.

President KC presented his vision for South Sudan to advance towards becoming a peaceful and stable nation by 2030. He explained that the proposed declaration of South Sudan as a “Peaceful Nation” would represent a national commitment to peace, reconciliation, dialogue, non-violence and sustainable development.

During the discussions, Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony expressed his appreciation for President KC’s peace initiative and his support for the proposals presented during the meeting. The Governor also expressed support for advancing the proposed declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation and for the broader objectives of Global Peace 2030.

President KC and the Governor discussed reconciliation, national unity, dialogue and non-violence, as well as the possible contribution of President KC, the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 to future peace talks, consultations and mediation efforts aimed at supporting lasting peace in South Sudan.

Honourable Jacob Gore, Minister for Peace Building of the Government of Central Equatoria State, together with other senior state officials, also attended the meeting.
The discussions further addressed the importance of implementing peace initiatives at the grassroots level through cooperation among the Government of Central Equatoria State, Juba City Council, relevant national institutions, civil society, local communities and regional and international partners.

Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony welcomed the willingness of President KC, the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 to contribute, where appropriate and in coordination with the relevant authorities, to future dialogue, consultations and mediation efforts aimed at bringing parties together and supporting lasting peace.

President KC welcomed the Governor’s positive response and reaffirmed the readiness of the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 to support dialogue and mediation impartially and transparently, while fully respecting the sovereignty, Constitution and territorial integrity of the Republic of South Sudan.
President KC stated during the meeting:

“I want South Sudan to be known as a country of peace—not a country of conflict or violence, and not a country defined by United Nations missions and refugee camps. I want to see South Sudan recognised internationally for peace, stability, national unity and development.”

President KC explained that his visit formed part of the Global Peace 2030 mission to promote lasting peace, national unity, reconciliation, human rights, dialogue and non-violent solutions to conflict. He reaffirmed his commitment to cooperating with the Government and people of South Sudan, civil society and relevant regional and international partners in their efforts towards lasting peace.

Following the visit to Juba, on 15 September 2026, President Mr. Sappan KC Hum held an official meeting with Honourable Stephen Par Kuol, Minister of Peace Building of the Republic of South Sudan, as part of his official peace mission to the country.

During the meeting, President KC formally presented his Special Proposal for the “Declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation and Official Recognition and Support for Global Peace 2030,” addressed to the Honourable Minister.

President KC presented his vision for South Sudan to advance towards becoming a peaceful and stable nation by 2030 and explained that the proposed declaration would represent a national commitment to peace, reconciliation, dialogue and non-violence.

During the discussions, Honourable Stephen Par Kuol expressed his appreciation for President KC’s peace proposals and his support for the proposals presented during the meeting. The Minister indicated that President KC’s proposals were acceptable and welcomed continued cooperation towards advancing the proposed Declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation and the broader objectives of Global Peace 2030.

President KC and the Minister also discussed national reconciliation and healing, including strengthening national cohesion, social integration, trust among communities and peacebuilding efforts across states, counties and local communities.

The meeting further addressed the importance of implementing peace initiatives at the grassroots level, with cooperation among the Ministry of Peace Building, state-level institutions, civil society, communities and international partners.

Honourable Stephen Par Kuol also welcomed President KC and the Europe Peace Foundation/Global Peace 2030 to contribute, where appropriate and in coordination with the relevant authorities, to future peace dialogue, consultations and mediation efforts aimed at bringing parties together and supporting lasting peace in South Sudan.

Following the official visit to Juba by President Mr. Sappan KC Hum, an official meeting was held with Hon. Albino Akol Atak Mayom, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the Republic of South Sudan, at the Main Hall of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management on 15 September 2026.

During the meeting, President KC thanked the Honourable Minister for receiving him and his delegation and for the warm welcome extended during his official peace mission to South Sudan.

President KC explained that his visit formed part of the Global Peace 2030 mission to promote lasting peace, national unity, reconciliation, humanitarian cooperation and non-violent solutions to conflict. He recognised the resilience of the people of South Sudan and stressed that lasting peace is essential to addressing humanitarian challenges, displacement and the needs of refugees and vulnerable communities.

President KC formally presented his special proposal for the declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation and a proposed National Peace, Reconciliation and Development Roadmap towards 2030. He also presented a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of the Minister’s contribution and continued service in the humanitarian field.

President KC emphasised that humanitarian challenges cannot be separated from the wider pursuit of peace. Continued conflict and instability increase displacement, deepen humanitarian needs and place additional pressure on communities and institutions. He therefore called for stronger national and international cooperation to protect civilians, assist displaced people and refugees, support vulnerable communities and create conditions that allow people to rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

He encouraged the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to advance an appropriate national process towards declaring South Sudan a Peaceful Nation. President KC explained that such a declaration would not mean that every national challenge had already been resolved, but would demonstrate a strong commitment to rejecting violence, resolving differences peacefully and placing human dignity and national unity at the centre of the country’s future.

President KC also stressed the importance of inclusive dialogue and reconciliation in addressing the underlying causes of humanitarian crises. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 to support transparent dialogue, mediation, humanitarian cooperation and peacebuilding efforts involving the Government, communities and other relevant stakeholders.

He further called upon political leaders, communities and all parties to reject violence and inflammatory language and to support peaceful political processes. President KC said that reducing violence and strengthening national dialogue would directly contribute to reducing displacement and humanitarian suffering.

During their discussions, President KC and the Honourable Minister exchanged views on the humanitarian situation in South Sudan, the challenges facing displaced people and refugees, and the importance of connecting humanitarian action with long-term peace, reconciliation and development.

Hon. Albino Akol Atak Mayom welcomed President KC and expressed appreciation for his visit and international peace initiative. The Minister encouraged President KC to continue his work for peace and welcomed efforts that could contribute positively to humanitarian cooperation, national dialogue, reconciliation and stability in South Sudan.

President KC thanked the Honourable Minister for the constructive discussion and reaffirmed his commitment to working with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, the Government of the Republic of South Sudan and other stakeholders in support of humanitarian action and lasting peace.

“Humanitarian suffering cannot be separated from conflict. When we build peace, we protect lives, reduce displacement and give families the opportunity to rebuild their future. South Sudan has the opportunity to send a new message of peace and hope to Africa and the world,” President KC stated.

On 14 September 2026, President Mr. Sappan KC Hum held an official meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan in Juba, as part of his official peace mission to the country.

The meeting was originally scheduled with the Honourable Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. During the official engagement at the Ministry, President KC and his delegation were received by Hon. Amb. Agnes Adlino Orifa Oswaha, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

President KC formally submitted his Special Proposal for the Declaration of South Sudan as a Peaceful Nation and Official Recognition and Support for Global Peace 2030, addressed to the Honourable Minister.

He also submitted a Certificate of Appreciation addressed to the Minister, recognising and encouraging his contribution and continued efforts towards peace, international cooperation and the development of South Sudan.

During the discussions, President KC explained that his visit to South Sudan formed part of the Global Peace 2030 mission to promote lasting peace, national unity, reconciliation, international cooperation and non-violent solutions to conflict.

President KC recognised the resilience and aspirations of the people of South Sudan and stressed that lasting peace is essential for addressing the country’s humanitarian challenges, displacement and the needs of refugees and vulnerable communities, as well as creating greater opportunities for national development.

He also expressed his concern that the international community should hear more about South Sudan’s efforts and aspirations for peace. He appealed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to continue using its diplomatic engagement at the regional and international levels to strengthen support for lasting peace, reconciliation and stability in South Sudan.

President KC emphasised his vision that South Sudan should move towards becoming a peaceful and stable nation by 2030 and called for stronger cooperation between national institutions, civil society, regional partners and the international community in support of this goal.

During the meeting, the Ministry welcomed President KC’s peace mission and encouraged him to continue his work for peace. The discussions also recognised the importance of initiatives that can contribute positively to national dialogue, reconciliation, humanitarian cooperation and long-term stability.

President KC reaffirmed the readiness of the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 to cooperate with the Government and people of South Sudan, as well as relevant national, regional and international partners, in efforts towards lasting peace.

“Our common goal should be clear: by 2030, South Sudan should be moving forward as a nation of lasting peace, where people no longer suffer from humanitarian crises caused by violence and conflict,” President KC said.

On 14 September 2026, President Mr. Sappan KC Hum held an official meeting with the Honourable Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Republic of South Sudan.

During the meeting, President KC expressed his gratitude to the Honourable Minister for receiving the delegation and for the warm welcome extended to him during his official peace mission to South Sudan.

President KC explained that his visit formed part of the Global Peace 2030 mission, which seeks to promote lasting peace, national unity, reconciliation, human rights, justice, the rule of law and non-violent solutions to conflict. He recognised the courage and resilience of the people of South Sudan and expressed his conviction that they deserve lasting peace, security, development and a better future.

President KC formally presented his special proposal for the declaration of South Sudan as a “Peaceful Nation,” along with a Certificate of Appreciation recognising and encouraging the Minister’s continued contribution to peace. He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting lasting peace and a National Peace and Reconciliation Roadmap for South Sudan towards 2030.

He urged the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to begin the appropriate national process to declare South Sudan a Peaceful Nation. He explained that such a declaration would not suggest that every conflict or national challenge had already ended. Rather, it would represent a strong national commitment to reject violence, resolve disagreements peacefully, protect human dignity and build a united and prosperous country.

President KC also proposed the adoption of a National Peace, Reconciliation and Development Roadmap towards 2030. The proposed roadmap would support inclusive national dialogue, community reconciliation, justice, constitutional development, the protection of civilians, respect for human rights, voluntary disarmament, peace education and the meaningful participation of women and young people.

He emphasised that justice and the rule of law are essential foundations for lasting peace. He therefore encouraged continued efforts to strengthen public confidence in national institutions, guarantee equal protection under the law and ensure that constitutional processes contribute to stability, inclusion and peaceful democratic development.

President KC called upon all political leaders, communities and parties to reject violence and inflammatory language and to support free, fair, credible, transparent, inclusive and peaceful elections. He further offered the support of the Europe Peace Foundation and Global Peace 2030 for transparent dialogue and mediation between the Government and all relevant parties to the conflict.

President KC also requested an official written statement from the Government of the Republic of South Sudan recognising Global Peace 2030 and supporting its objectives of advancing lasting peace, stability, dialogue and international cooperation.

In response, the Honourable Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol welcomed President KC and expressed his appreciation for the visit and the peace initiative. He encouraged President KC to continue his international work for peace and expressed support for the objectives of Global Peace 2030.

The Honourable Minister stated that South Sudan supports peace and initiatives that can contribute positively to national dialogue, reconciliation and stability. He welcomed President KC’s proposed peace roadmap and his vision of advancing lasting peace in South Sudan by 2030.

The Minister also expressed the Government’s readiness to welcome President KC’s constructive participation in national dialogue and peace processes where his contribution and international peace mission could support ongoing national efforts.

President KC thanked the Honourable Minister for his positive response, encouragement and support. He reaffirmed his readiness to cooperate with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Government of South Sudan and other stakeholders in advancing justice, reconciliation, national dialogue and lasting peace.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President KC again urged the Government and people of South Sudan to embrace the vision of declaring the country a Peaceful Nation and to work together towards lasting peace by 2030.

“South Sudan can send a new message of hope to Africa and the world. Peace is the foundation of justice, unity, development and a secure future for every citizen,” President KC stated.
