9th of March is the birthday of the most prominent poet in Ukrainian history - Taras Shevchenko.

We celebrate this day with the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine, a state award for the most outstanding works of literature, art, theatre, music and journalism, which are considered the pinnacle of the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people.

On this day the following awards have been announced.

In the Journalism category, the prize winners are Yevhen Maloletka, Mstyslav Chernov, and Vasilisa Stepanenko for a series of journalistic works on the siege of Mariupol (reports, photo and video reports, investigations, and the film «20 Days in Mariupol»).

UFACE is an acronym for Ukrainians For the Arts, Culture and Education 💙💛

This cultural non-profit association was founded in Madrid, Spain in 2023 with the scope and focus to develop and support Spanish and international projects that have at heart the enhacing and appreciation of Ukrainian culture and its artistic values.

We believe that culture and arts play a fundamental role in the identity of a group. In this regard – due mostly to the pervasive and lethal effect of soviet communism which homogenized all nations under one rule, whilst eradicating the past and destroying most artistic and culture expressions outside of its totalitarian sphere – Ukraine is in a particularly important crossroad in history, and in a position, after over a hundred years, to rediscover her roots, her voice and her destiny.

For the year 2024, our programs focus mainly in cinema, music and art, presenting the best Ukraine has to offer, to a new and very committed Western public, who – as much as we Ukrainians have – is discovering a friendly new neighbour and a lasting new friendship indeed!

Join our journey and discover Ukraine 🌺
