Phase 2 of registration for The Old School opens this Saturday, May 2nd! 🌍

Before we open the doors to the Global Majority and our General Registration (Allies), we want to pause and share the why behind our registration structure.

The Old School is more than just a dance festival. It is an active initiative to reconnect Jazz dance with its African American roots and create an environment that honors Black histories, expressions, and communities. Our phased registration and equity pricing exist to actively remove systemic barriers, ensuring the physical space genuinely reflects these values.

A Note to Our Allies (General Registration):
When you register on Saturday, you will be asked to read and agree to
”Our Shared Commitments.” This is not just a quick checkbox—it is a vital part of the pre-work required before stepping into a Black cultural space. We ask our guests to arrive ready to listen, learn, and engage thoughtfully. Furthermore, by paying the Standard/Supporter rate, you are taking a concrete step in allyship that directly supports the community. ⏳
