2026📊 The MENA region continues to have the highest youth unemployment rates in the world.

The International Labour Organization's (ILO) Global Employment Trends for Youth 2026 report highlights a persistent challenge facing young people across the MENA region: high NEET rates.

NEET refers to young people who are not in employment, education or training, making it a key indicator of exclusion from learning and work opportunities.

🌱 EFE is advancing knowledge sharing, capacity building, and direct training and employment support for young people across MENA through its commitments to both the Green Jobs for Youth Pact, led by the ILO, UNEP and UNICEF, and Decent Jobs for Youth, the ILO-led global initiative driving collective action to expand young people’s access to decent work and sustainable livelihoods.

Different contexts, common aspirations.

🌍✨ This International Youth Day, EFE recognises that while young people face diverse realities around the world, they are united by shared aspirations: dignity, opportunity, quality education, meaningful participation, and decent work.

🚀 At EFE, we connect young people with the skills, opportunities, and networks they need to access decent work, build sustainable businesses, and realise their potential.

🚀 At EFE, our job fairs are designed to transform opportunities into real careers. The preparation starts long before the event. Through our training programmes, participants receive interview preparation, CV support, and employability training, ensuring they arrive ready to make the most of every opportunity.

💼 At the job fair, youth connect directly with employers. For many, that conversation leads to a job offer, marking the start of their careers and the beginning of a brighter future.

🌍 People with disabilities in Morocco continue to face significant barriers to employment. Inaccessible recruitment practices, discrimination, and other systemic barriers prevent many talented young people from accessing decent work and the opportunity to build independent, fulfilling careers.

✨ Through the AJYAL programme, in collaboration with Citi Foundation, EFE-Maroc is helping change this. At the Inclusive Job Forum in Salé, organised with Humanity & Inclusion, more than 50 job seekers connected with employers and organisations committed to advancing inclusive employment.

🚀 The event provided opportunities for networking, career guidance, and meaningful dialogue, while also supporting employers to strengthen more inclusive recruitment practices. By bringing employers and candidates together, the forum helped challenge perceptions and highlight the skills, talent, and contributions that young people with disabilities bring to the workplace.

💼 When women entrepreneurs succeed, entire communities prosper.

Women-led businesses in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) account for just 5% of all enterprises. This is driven by persistent barriers, including limited access to finance, restrictive gender norms, and fewer opportunities to build the networks needed to grow successful businesses.

At EFE, we are helping change this. Through entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and access to finance, we support young women to build successful businesses that create jobs, drive innovation, and strengthen local communities.
