🌿 Growing Peace Through Olive Trees — and Stories
A new project in alignment with The Garden of Peace & Women in Olive Oil
The Garden of Peace is a living international initiative where 21 olive trees from 21 countries are growing together — not just as agricultural acts, but as acts of meaning.
Each garden is a space for reconciliation, encounter, and reflection. These trees serve as bridges between cultures, rooted in peace, diversity, and cooperation.
Women in Olive Oil (WIOO) shares this mission — connecting women across 40+ countries who work with olive oil as a way of life, expression, and healing.
Now, WIOO member and author Helen Melser (New Zealand) is launching a new book project that brings this shared spirit into story.
Through recipes, reflections, and traditions from olive oil producers, the book will amplify the voice of the gardens — turning trees into stories, and branches into bridges.
It’s a celebration of everyday wisdom — kitchens, families, and the landscapes that sustain us. A vision of food as a language of peace.
🌍 Countries involved in The Garden of Peace:
Albania, Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, United States.
🌿 Helen is looking for small growers or organisations with cross-cultural ties, stories of climate resilience, disease recovery, or social impact — or anyone with a meaningful story and connection to the Garden of Peace.
📩 One or two producers per country will be featured.
