🌍 Online Clinic Session on Eco-Tourism Marketing!🌍

As part of the “Starting-up, go-to-market services and testing of eco/blue economy tourism packages'' activities of reboot-med, MEET Network is organizing an online clinic session on the topic "Marketing and its Channels: How to Reach Eco-Tourism Tour Operators" on October 18th.

Marketing emerged as one of the main challenges across different project territories during the co-creation of products/packages. This training aims to provide practical tools and key knowledge to understand the dynamics of the current tourism market, focusing on two growing segments: ecotourism and blue tourism.

During this session, reboot-med Partners, Technical Assistants and Projects, will explore effective marketing strategies, identify the right channels to reach key tour operators, and analyze how to establish strategic partnerships to enhance the promotion and sale of sustainable tourism products.

🌊 MedPAN Workshop on Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas: Highlights from MEET Network

We had an amazing time contributing to MedPAN-network's workshop on "Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas," where MEET Network played an active role in several sessions and hosted a side event. Here are some key outcomes and insights we wanted to share:

📊 Practical Tools for Ecotourism Management: MEET Network introduced resources like the MEET Standard, the ecotourism indicator monitoring platform, and online courses, offering practical solutions to marine protected area managers.

🌱 Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building: Discussions highlighted the importance of involving local communities and stakeholders at every stage, from planning to ex*****on, to ensure tourism practices are sustainable and beneficial to the environment and local communities.

🤝 Cross-Sector Collaboration: Sessions underlined the significance of building partnerships between conservationists, tour operators, and local authorities to foster sustainable tourism while protecting marine ecosystems.

From April 15 to 17, 2024, the MEET Network travelled to La Londe-les-Maures (France) to join MedPAN’s regional experience-sharing workshop on ‘Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas’ .

🔜 Excited for the upcoming MedPAN-network Regional Experience Sharing Workshop. This year, the focus is on 'Managing Tourism in Marine Protected Areas in the Mediterranean'.

We're thrilled to announce that MEET Network, with the support of UICN - Centre de coopération pour la Méditerranée, will be hosting a side event where we'll connect with MEET members and other key stakeholders attending the workshop!

🗣️ We'll also speak in several sessions, discussing tools and solutions for ecotourism management, blue tourism, over-visitation challenges, and partnerships for ecotourism in protected areas.

The upcoming MedPAN Regional experience-sharing workshop, MedPAN General Assembly, and associated events will be hosted from 15 to 19 April 2024 in La Londe les Maures, France and online. These events will be organised in partnership with Port-Cros National Park.

We are at reboot-med 5th Management Board & 3rd Regional Workshop in the Balearic Islands, one of the pilot destinations in the project!

🌊For two days, we're engaging in a collaborative exchange of experiences around ecotourism and blue tourism.

We're also discussing progress and upcoming activities to enhance sustainable tourism in coastal destinations.

Passionate about ecotourism? MEET Network is looking for a Trainee/Intern in Malaga, Spain, to support our mission across the Mediterranean. 🚀

📅 Duration: 6 months minimum, starting between March and June 2024

📍 Location: Malaga, Spain

Responsibilities: Marketing & communications, admin support, membership management

Requirements:
- Eligible for a trainee scheme (ideally Erasmus+)
- Pursuing postgraduate studies in tourism, communications, or marketing
- Fluency in English and French
