WFDF mourns the passing of long-time flying disc contributor Shiellah Quintos

The World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) is sad to announce that long-time flying disc contributor Shiellah Quintos has passed away at age 59 following a serious illness.

Shiellah was a valued member of the global flying disc community and served WFDF with dedication, warmth, and commitment. Through her leadership in Beach Ultimate, she contributed to the continued growth, visibility, and organization of the discipline, helping support athletes, organizers, and national federations around the world.

Contributing to many parts of the flying disc community, Shiellah truly was a remarkable person. She served as the WFDF Beach Ultimate Chair since 2023 and as Ultimate Events Sub-Committee Chair and Ultimate Committee member since 2017. Shiellah worked as a WFDF Game Advisor/Trainer starting from WUCC 2014 and for BULA as Volunteer Coordinator at various events since 2015.

WFDF joins the international flying disc community, together with her family and friends, in mourning Shiellah’s passing and in honoring her extraordinary contributions to our sport. Her legacy will live on through the people she inspired and the work she helped advance.

May she rest in peace.

🇨🇷 From a five-team youth tournament in 2016 to hosting the region’s biggest Ultimate club event in 2027 🥏

WFDF is pleased to announce Costa Rica as the host of the 2027 Pan American Ultimate Club Championships (PAUCC).

“The road to PAUCC 2027 started in 2016 with a simple five team youth tournament on the outfields of the baseball fields of Parque La Sabana, under the shadow of the national soccer stadium. Now, after 10 years, we are bringing the region’s biggest event to one of the most beautiful and diverse countries on the planet” Said Rodrigo Araya and Chasen Brokaw.

PAUC started in Medellín, Colombia in 2011. In November 2027, Costa Rica will become the 7th country to host this event.
See you in San José 🇨🇷🌎

What can 10 years of combined effort leads to? ✨

✅ In Nepal, it led from one introduction to Flying Disc sports in 2016… to a recognised National Federation, school programs, equipment support, and now the first-ever Himalayan Spirit Cup.

🗣️As shared by Santosh Khadka, secretary general at the Nepal Flying Disc Federation (NFDF), what started with a single connection while in Norway grew into a movement helping bring the sport to schools and communities across Nepal.

A reminder that the growth of our sport doesn’t happen overnight. It happens through people sharing the game, building communities, creating opportunities, and believing in what sport can become.
