Pride is more than a celebration of identityโ€”it is a celebration of community, leadership, and the generations of advocates who have worked tirelessly to create a more equal and inclusive world.

This Pride Month, Gayon proudly honors the leaders who helped shape our movement and strengthen our community. Through their voices, experiences, and advocacies, they remind us that Pride is not only about being seen, but about building a society where every person can live with dignity, safety, opportunity, and belonging.

From grassroots organizing and human rights advocacy to public health, governance, economic empowerment, and community development, these former presidents have carried forward a shared vision: a future where LGBTQIA+ people are not merely included, but empowered to lead, thrive, and transform the world around them.

As we celebrate Pride, we honor the past, recognize the work that continues today, and invest in the leaders who will shape tomorrow.

Because Pride is not built by one voice, one leader, or one generation.

It is built by all of us.๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆโœจ

As we commemorate the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, we remember those we have lost, honor those living with HIV, and reaffirm our commitment to a stronger and more sustainable HIV response.

We envision a future where HIV prevention, testing, treatment, and care are free, accessible, gender-affirming, and available without fear of stigma, discrimination, or judgment.

We envision communities where HIV is understood as a public health issue, not a moral or behavioral failing; where every person can access accurate information, quality services, and compassionate support regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or HIV status.

We call for HIV services that are community-centered and data-drivenโ€”supported by trained and sensitive healthcare providers, flexible and accessible service delivery, strengthened referral systems, and meaningful participation of people living with HIV and key populations in decision-making processes.

We believe that communities must remain at the center of the HIV response. Civil society organizations, advocates, and volunteers have long filled critical gaps in prevention, testing, treatment, and support. Their leadership, expertise, and lived experiences must be recognized, sustained, and adequately supported.

As the future of international funding remains uncertain, we call on government institutions, local government units, and development partners to invest in long-term, community-led solutions that will sustain gains and leave no one behind.

Together, we remember. Together, we act. Together, we build a future where communities continue to save lives.

In observance of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2026, HIV advocates and members of Gayon came together for "Amplifying Voices, Advancing Action: A Community Roundtable for the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial."

The activity provided a safe and meaningful space for community conversations on HIV Testing and Diagnosis, Treatment and Care, HIV Prevention and Education, Adressing Stigma and Discrimination, and Sustaining the HIV Response. Participants shared their experiences, insights, challenges, and recommendations toward building a more inclusive, responsive, and sustainable HIV response.

The gathering concluded with a candlelight memorial ceremony, honoring the lives lost to AHD-related illnesses, standing in solidarity with people living with HIV, and reaffirming our collective commitment to a future free from stigma, discrimination, and barriers to care.

As we remember, we also act. As we honor lives, we amplify voices. Together, we continue to strengthen the HIV response and ensure that no one is left behind.

Across our region, nurses are holding communities and health systems together through conflict, climate crises, staff shortages, funding cuts and growing inequalities in access to care. Yet too often, they are working under immense pressure without the recognition, protection, or support they deserve.

But nurses are more than caregivers. They are advocates, trusted community leaders, and frontline defenders of dignity, health, and justice. Building fair and resilient health systems means ensuring nurses are safe, supported, fairly paid, heard, and able to lead. ๐Ÿฉบ ๐ŸŒ

For Lady L, sexual and reproductive healthcare is not simply a profession, but something deeply personal. Supporting women and men to access care โ€” especially during times of crisis โ€” felt, to her, like caring for her own family.

โ€œAs a nurse, making family planning accessible means supporting people to make healthy choices for themselves and their future. It is fulfilling to see people live healthier and better lives.โ€
- Lady L, Nurse, FPOP Camarines Sur Chapter

Her words are a reminder that nursing is rooted not only in skill and service, but in compassion, trust, and the belief that everyone deserves care without judgment. ๐Ÿ“ฃ

This , we honour the nurses who continue to show up for their communities every day with courage, empathy, and unwavering commitment. When nurses are empowered, care becomes more accessible, communities become stronger, and more lives are changed.๐Ÿ’œ

May mga araw na parang ang haba-haba ng listahanโ€”
mga tanong, mga takot, mga โ€œpaano kung?โ€

Pero teka. Hindi lang problema ang nasa listahang โ€˜yan. Nandoon din ang mga karapatan moโ€” mga bagay na hindi dapat inaagaw, hindi dapat ikinukubli, at lalong hindi dapat kinakalimutan. This is your sign to pause, learn, and empower yourself.

Through the Kilos Bahaghari Initiative, Bahaghari Center in partnership with Gayon and in coordination with Bacacay Pixie Saga and GuiBians, conducted the distribution of emergency go bags and survival kits to LGBTQIA+ members in Bacacay and Guinobatan, Albay. This initiative aims to ensure that members of the community are equipped with essential resources that can support their safety, preparedness, and well-being during emergencies and disasters.

More than just providing supplies, this effort reflects a deeper commitment to inclusive humanitarian actionโ€”one that recognizes the unique vulnerabilities of LGBTQIA+ individuals while affirming their dignity and right to protection. Let us continue to build communities where care is shared, resilience is strengthened, and no one is left behind. ๐Ÿ’œโœจ
