Planning a trip to Spain ? Save this before you go!
Spain has SO many amazing places, but these are my personal favorites so far 👇
1. Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
The facade is breathtaking, and it’s even bigger in person than in photos. But don’t just admire it from outside. Go in. Stepping inside feels like walking into a forest made of stone, with light pouring through the stained glass. It’s been under construction for over 140 years, and that’s part of what makes it so special: you’re seeing a masterpiece still being built. 🌳✨
Tip: Book tickets ahead, they sell out. And don’t skip the museum in the basement area. You will learn on how it was built.
2. Prado Museum, Madrid
I’m not a super art lover, but I’m a history buff, and every painting here carries a story. I was drawn in completely. One day is NOT enough, the collection is massive. It houses works by Velázquez, Goya, and El Greco, so you’re basically walking through centuries of Spanish history. 🎨
Tip: Pick a few galleries to focus on instead of trying to see it all.
Taking photos is not allowed inside.
3. Aqueduct of Segovia
Architecture with a purpose. This was built to carry water to the people of Segovia, and it stands right in the middle of town as a remarkable landmark. The wild part? It was built by the Romans, roughly 2,000 years ago, and held together without mortar. 🏛️
Tip: Great as a day trip from Madrid.
4. Plaza de España, Seville
Another beautifully designed space, so spacious and so royal and regal. Every detail is stunning, from the curved building to the tiled alcoves representing Spain’s provinces and the little canal where you can rent a rowboat. It’s one of the most photogenic spots in the country. 📸👑
Tip: Go early morning or sunset for softer light and fewer crowds.
5. Mezquita, Córdoba
A beautiful blend of two religions, Christianity and Islam, in one building. Walk among the forest of red-and-white arches, then find a Renaissance cathedral built right in the middle of the mosque. Few places in the world show layers of history this clearly. 🕌⛪
Tip: Book with an audio guide. So much history to learn about Mezquita.
6. Old Town of Córdoba
A labyrinth of little streets that’s just magical. Flower pots line the walls, and the cobblestone paths are perfect for wandering and getting lost on purpose. Pretty, aesthetic, and peaceful. 🌸
Tip: Visit in spring if you can, when the patios and flowers are at their peak.
7. Alhambra, Granada
I spent my birthday here in July 2025. It was on my bucket list, and it did not disappoint. Palaces, gardens, and Moorish artwork with so much history to take in. Like the Prado, one day isn’t enough. 🎂🏰
Tip: Book well in advance, tickets go fast, especially in high season.
