🌱 ¡Compartiendo conocimientos para un olivar más sostenible!

El pasado 8 de octubre, SOIL O-LIVE participó en una charla-coloquio sobre prácticas sostenibles en Pozo Alcón (Jaén).

Víctor Valenzuela presentó las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza que investiga SOIL O-LIVE para mejorar la salud del suelo, la productividad y la calidad del aceite.
El encuentro también abordó el Protocolo de Sostenibilidad de Deoleo y las buenas prácticas para reducir MOSH y MOAH.

🌱 Sharing knowledge for more sustainable olive groves!

On 8 October, SOIL O-LIVE took part in a workshop on sustainable practices in Pozo Alcón, Spain.

Víctor Valenzuela presented the nature-based solutions being investigated by SOIL O-LIVE to improve soil health, productivity and olive oil quality.
The event also covered the Deoleo Sustainability Protocol and good practices for reducing MOSH and MOAH.

🌱¡Nueva charla-coloquio sobre prácticas sostenibles en Rute (Córdoba)!

El próximo 15 de octubre, SOIL O-LIVE participará en un nuevo encuentro dedicado a las prácticas sostenibles en la SCA Cooperativa Agrícola de Rute.
Durante la jornada se abordarán:
- El Protocolo de Sostenibilidad Deoleo, con Bartolomé Lara.
- SOIL O-LIVE: soluciones basadas en la naturaleza para mejorar la salud del suelo, productividad y calidad del aceite, con Antonio Manzaneda.
- Economía circular y aprovechamiento de los subproductos como prácticas sostenibles, con Juan García.

On 15 October, SOIL O-LIVE will take part in a new event focused on sustainable practices at SCA Cooperativa Agrícola de Rute.
The programme will cover:

- The Deoleo Sustainability Protocol, with Bartolomé Lara.
- SOIL O-LIVE: nature-based solutions to improve soil health, productivity and olive oil quality, with Antonio Manzaneda.
- Circular economy and by-product valorisation as sustainable practices, with Juan García.

🌱El pasado 1 de octubre, investigadores de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), junto con colaboradores de la Universidad de Jaén (UJA) y el IAS-CSIC, implementaron un ensayo de remediación en la Finca Experimental ubicada en Santisteban del Puerto (Jaén).
El ensayo estudia el uso de ozono gaseoso generado in situ para la remediación de suelos de olivar contaminados por pesticidas y herbicidas.

🧪 Se tomaron muestras iniciales y tras siete días, se realizará un nuevo muestreo para evaluar la degradación de los pesticidas y los posibles efectos del tratamiento sobre la nematofauna y la comunidad microbiana del suelo.

🌱On 1 October, researchers from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), together with collaborators from the University of Jaén (UJA) and IAS-CSIC, implemented a soil remediation trial at one of our experimental sites located in Santisteban del Puerto, Spain.
The trial investigates the use of in situ generated gaseous ozone for the remediation of olive grove soils contaminated by pesticides and herbicides.

🧪 Initial samples were collected and after seven days, a second sampling will assess pesticide degradation and the potential effects of the treatment on nematodes and soil microbial communities.

🌿 El proyecto SOIL O-LIVE participó en el Panhellenic Agroecology Forum 2026, cuya tercera jornada estuvo dedicada al cultivo del olivo y se celebró junto con el 4th OLIDAY: Interactive Symposium.

Como ponente internacional invitado, el Profesor Antonio Manzaneda (Universidad de Jaén – INUO.UJA) presentó el marco y los resultados de SOIL O-LIVE, proyecto centrado en la salud del suelo y la gestión sostenible de los olivares. 🌱

¡Gracias a Mediterranean Agrooecology Group (ELGO - IOSV), NILEAS Producers Group y a todas las personas implicadas en la organización!

🌿 The SOIL O-LIVE project took part in the Panhellenic Agroecology Forum 2026, whose third day was dedicated to olive cultivation and held in conjunction with the 4th OLIDAY: Interactive Symposium.
As an invited international speaker, Professor Antonio Manzaneda (Universidad de Jaén – INUO.UJA) presented the framework and results of SOIL O-LIVE, a project focused on soil health and the sustainable management of olive groves. 🌱

🌱 El pasado 15 de septiembre (10:30 - 12:00 h) celebramos un Workshop en las instalaciones de Molino del Genil, en Écija (Sevilla), un encuentro clave con la participación de agricultores locales.

Durante la jornada, Antonio Manzaneda expuso las líneas de actuación del proyecto Soil O-Live y su compromiso con la salud del suelo y Bartolomé Lara abordó la implantación del Protocolo de Sostenibilidad de Deoleo.

🤝 Agradecemos enormemente a Molino del Genil y a todos los asistentes su participación activa. ¡El cambio hacia un olivar más vivo y sostenible se construye juntos!

🌱 On September 15th (10:30 - 12:00 h), a workshop was held at the Molino del Genil facilities in Écija (Seville), a key event for sharing knowledge and promoting the health of our fields with the participation of local farmers.

During the event, Antonio Manzaneda outlined the lines of action of the Soil O-Live project and its commitment to soil health and Bartolomé Lara addressed the implementation of Deoleo's sustainability protocol.

🤝 We are extremely grateful to Molino del Genil and all attendees for their active participation. The transition towards a more vibrant and sustainable olive grove is built together!

🚨 30 de julio: Día de la Sobrecapacidad de la Tierra.

En solo 6 meses, la humanidad ha gastado lo que la Tierra tarda 12 meses en recuperar. Estamos viviendo de un préstamo ambiental que no podemos pagar.

Este gráfico lo dice todo: el equilibrio está roto. Pero hay esperanza si cambiamos el rumbo.

🌱 En Soil O-Live trabajamos por una agricultura regenerativa que evite el agotamiento y que sane el suelo.

In just 6 months, humanity has used up what takes the Earth 12 months to regenerate. We are living on an environmental loan that we cannot repay.

This chart says it all: the balance has been disrupted. But there is hope if we change course.

🌱 At Soil O-Live, we’re working towards regenerative agriculture that prevents soil depletion and heals the soil.

🗣️ "Los agricultores siempre estamos abiertos a aprender". Con estas palabras, Ángel Luis Moreno Carrascosa resume la importancia de participar en los workshops organizados por SOIL O-LIVE y Deoleo.

Para avanzar hacia una producción más eficiente y sostenible, el sector necesita información, proyectos de investigación aplicados y, sobre todo, ganas de seguir aprendiendo. ¡Y a nuestros agricultores les sobran!

🗣️ “As farmers, we’re always keen to learn.” With these words, Ángel Luis Moreno sums up the importance of taking part in the workshops organised by SOIL O-LIVE and Deoleo.

To move towards more efficient and sustainable production, the sector needs information, applied research projects and, above all, a willingness to keep learning. And our farmers have that in spades!
