End of Season Dinner

It’s been a busy season for Puerto de Xàbia Lodge 58. To reflect on the work we have carried out and to mark the end of W. Bro. Nick Coates’ year in the Chair, we gathered at Grizzlies World in Moraira.

A great time was had by all!

Particularly our Treasurer, Peter de Graaf! Does this picture remind you of the infamous Ed Miliband bacon sandwich?

🚗💙 Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 – Car Treasure Hunt Success!

What a fantastic Sunday! On 19th April, 25 members and guests from Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 set off on a brilliant Car Treasure Hunt, expertly organised by W. Bro. James Campbell.

Armed with 47 clues, teams followed a scenic and cleverly planned route that took them around the Montgó, across Cabo de San Antonio, through the Port of Jávea, into the Old Town, past Portichol, and finally out to the stunning Cabo de la Nao lighthouse.

The adventure wrapped up at the welcoming Faro de Azahar Restaurant, where everyone compared clues, shared laughs, and enjoyed a well‑earned meal together.

Most importantly, the event raised 345€ for charity — a wonderful result and a testament to the enthusiasm and generosity of all who took part.

A huge thank you to W. Bro. James Campbell for organising such an enjoyable day.
Great fun, great company, and great support for a worthy cause. 💙✨

A wonderful night for Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58.

We were delighted to welcome our newest Brother, Chay van Morkhoven, who was Initiated into the Craft under the steady hand of our Worshipful Master, Nick Coates.

The evening was especially meaningful as it marked Nick’s final meeting in the Chair, closing a truly successful and heartfelt year of leadership. Our congratulations also go to Bro. Rafe Parker, who has been elected to serve as Worshipful Master for 2026–27 and will be installed in October.

A memorable night of tradition, fellowship and new beginnings.

🌟 Crowdfunding Appeal for the Marina Alta Masonic Centre 🌟

There’s a real sense of excitement building around the Centro de Marina Alta. Thanks to the hard work of volunteers from Lodges across the Marina Alta, the refurbishment is moving forward beautifully. In the past few weeks alone, teams have power‑washed the roof, removed damaged flooring, taken down internal walls, and carefully dismantled the suspended ceiling. The transformation is already visible.

Of course, there’s still a long road ahead — especially as we work through the final licences and permissions — but the potential of our new Centre grows clearer every day.

A major milestone is already on the horizon: the Provincial Lodge of Instruction will take place at the Centre on 21 November. And with your help, we hope to complete the next phases and make the full move from Costa Nova by next Spring.

💙 Fundraising Momentum

Since January, Freemasons’ across the Province have been organising events and activities, raising over 24,000€, with another 11,000€ pledged. Your support has been incredible.

But to finish the job — especially the work that requires specialist contractors — we need to keep pushing forward.

💛 Why Your Support Matters

Our vision is ambitious:
• Three Temples
• A Festive Board area
• A bar and catering facility

A Centre that will serve the entire Valencian Masonic community for generations.

To help us reach that goal, we’re launching a Crowdfunding campaign to extend our appeal beyond our immediate Masonic family and into the wider community. Every donation, and every shared link, makes a real difference.

If you can donate — thank you. If you can share the link — thank you.
Your enthusiasm and generosity are the foundation of this project.

A Fascinating Look into History at Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58

This week, Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 welcomed more than twenty members and six visiting brethren to a well‑attended meeting at the Costa Nova Masonic Centre. We were especially honoured by the presence of W. Bro. Terry Whitehead, Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

One of the evening’s highlights was an insightful lecture by Bro. Stephen Young titled “The Repression of Freemasonry in the Franco Years.” His presentation explored the early growth of Freemasonry in Spain, the rise of General Franco, and the determined efforts made during the dictatorship to suppress the Craft. It was a powerful reminder of both the challenges faced and the resilience shown throughout that period.

W. Bro. Terry Whitehead also shared an encouraging update on the development of the Marina Alta Masonic Centre, including the latest floor plans. He expressed gratitude for the Lodge’s generous support so far and encouraged continued involvement as fundraising efforts move forward.

The evening concluded in true Masonic tradition with a warm and enjoyable Festive Board, where fellowship and good spirits rounded off a memorable night.

🏇 A Fantastic Race Night for a Great Cause!

Puerto de Xàbia Lodge No. 58 held a lively Race Night on Saturday 21 February, bringing together 29 brethren, partners, and guests for an evening of fun, fellowship, and fundraising. Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm—and the generosity of our brilliant sponsors—we raised €780 towards the refurbishment of the Marina Alta Masonic Centre.

A huge thank‑you to our race sponsors: Vives Pons Lawyers, Fiona’s Flowerpower, Mayflower Florists, Church Kitchens, Peter de Graaf Watch Repairs, and Rafe Parker Construction. Your support made the night a real success.

Worshipful Master W. Bro. Nick Coates summed up the spirit of the evening perfectly:

“Nights like this remind us how Freemasonry strengthens its ties with the community. The generosity shown helps us continue our charitable work and ensures our Centre remains a place where fellowship and service can flourish.”

About the Marina Alta Masonic Centre

Freemasons across the region are working together to create the Marina Alta Masonic Centre—a major community initiative that has already raised over €200,000 to purchase a neglected building in Ondara. The next step is a full programme of refurbishment and modernisation to create a welcoming, fully equipped space for charitable events, community activities, and the expanding community‑focused work of local Lodges. Once complete, the Centre will be a valuable asset for the whole Marina Alta, helping us continue our long‑standing support for local causes and charities.
