USING YOU TUBE TO STORE AND SHARE YOUR HOME MOVIES AND VIDEO CLIPS
Did you know that Google account holders can upload an unlimited number of videos to YouTube for free?. These can be kept private (so only you can see them); or unlisted, (so they don’t appear in Google searches, but friends and family can watch them via a link); or public for the whole world to see. This Thursday, Sept 3rd at (10.45 for 11.00 am), Chris will demonstrate how to set up a personal YouTube channel (you can have up to 100 channels per Gmail account) and how to upload a clip. We’ll also discuss how YouTube stores all these umpteen videos and the problems it has in this age of deepfakes and mass AI-generated content.
As always, non-members welcome at our Thursday presentations - 5€ per person to include a coffee/tea or water and a slice of cake! Find us at Centro Comercial La Plaza 10 on Ctra. Cabo La Nao

WIKIPEDIA IS MORE THAN JUST A FREE ENCYCLOPAEDIA
Wikipedia is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, a non-profit organisation that also hosts a range of other projects including books, media, data and even a travel guide. It is created and maintained by an online community of volunteers, which means that any of us can contribute and (importantly) correct mistakes we may find. This Thursday, 20 August (10.45 for 11.00 am) we will explore the many things Wikipedia has to offer, and see how articles can be edited. As always, non-members welcome at our Thursday presentations - 5€ per person to include a coffee/tea or water and a slice of cake! Find us at Centro Comercial La Plaza 10 on Ctra. Cabo La Nao

NOT MADE IN THE LAND OF TRUMP
Pretty much all the software we use these days is made by big corporations in the US: Microsoft, Apple, Google, Meta, OpenAI – the list goes on. We are bombarded with their adverts and badgered to buy their services. They know all about us and seek to know more. Can we escape this US domination? Are there any alternatives to Windows, Chrome, WhatsApp, Microsoft Office, ChatGPT, Gmail, iCloud which are not made in America? This Thursday, August 6 (10.45 for 11.00 am) we will review and experiment with powerful, mostly free software originating from outside the US, which can do everything the American software can do – and more. As always, non-members welcome at our Thursday presentations - 5€ per person to include a coffee/tea or water and a slice of cake! Find us at Centro Comercial La Plaza 10 on Ctra. Cabo La Nao
