How can molecular testing help guide real-world treatment decisions?

The ISLB 2026 Molecular Tumor Board will bring clinical decision-making to the forefront through a practical, case-based workshop examining how molecular insights can be applied across different cancer types.

Explore case-based approaches to molecular testing in:

• Advanced non-small cell lung cancer
• Advanced prostate cancer
• Breast cancer

Chaired by Dr David Gandara and Dr Jenna Canzoniero, the workshop will feature Dr Jacob Berchuck and Dr Massimo Cristofanilli, with panel contributions from Dr Daniel Stover and Dr Beatriz Bellosillo.
The session will conclude with an open discussion, creating an opportunity to examine the challenges and considerations involved in translating molecular testing into patient care.

Join the discussion in Madrid on Saturday, 7 November.

• Colorectal cancer
• Prostate cancer
• Breast cancer
• Lung cancer
• Biomarker-driven clinical trial design

Hear how leading experts are using liquid biopsy to inform treatment decisions, understand response and resistance, and advance more personalised approaches to cancer care.

Chaired by Prof Aya El Helali and Dr Javier de Castro, the session will feature:

• Dr Noelia Tarazona – Clinical applications of liquid biopsy in colorectal cancer
• Dr Jacob Berchuck – Clinical applications of liquid biopsy in prostate cancer
• Dr Massimo Cristofanilli – Clinical applications of liquid biopsy in breast cancer

Four EU-funded research projects. One shared goal: advancing liquid biopsy from research into clinical practice across Europe.

A dedicated session will bring together the coordinators and leads of PREDI-LYNCH, SPARC, JA-PCM and GUIDE.MRD to explore how liquid biopsy is being validated and implemented across the cancer care continuum.

Attendees will hear directly from:

• Mev Dominguez — PREDI-LYNCH: advancing non-invasive approaches for hereditary cancer surveillance
• Manuel Ottaviano — SPARC: supporting personalised medicine pilots across multiple tumour types
• Marc Van den Bulcke — JA-PCM: working towards harmonised access to personalised cancer medicine across Europe
• Klaus Pantel — GUIDE.MRD: advancing ctDNA-based minimal residual disease detection and monitoring

Together, these initiatives demonstrate the translational pathway of liquid biopsy — from biomarker discovery and clinical validation to Molecular Tumour Board integration, health equity, policy alignment and healthcare-system implementation.

The session will also highlight multinational clinical studies and biobanking efforts helping to build the evidence needed for broader, more equitable adoption of liquid biopsy across European healthcare systems.

Join us at ISLB 2026 in Madrid and hear how European collaboration is helping shape the future of liquid biopsy.
