Moroccan nationals ranked second among new EU citizens in 2024, with 97,100 people granted citizenship, confirming Morocco’s continued prominence in migration and integration trends across Europe.

Only Syrian nationals recorded higher numbers, while Albanians came third. The figures come as the European Union saw a notable rise in naturalizations, with nearly 1.2 million people acquiring citizenship last year.

This strong presence highlights the scale of Moroccan communities across Europe, particularly in countries such as Germany, Spain, and Italy, which together accounted for the majority of new citizenships granted in 2024.

UAE Ministry of Defense announced that a Moroccan national was killed by an Iranian missile attack in Bahrain.

The UAE ministry said the Moroccan national was working as a civilian contractor in the UAE Armed Forces.

“The blatant Iranian track also resulted in the injury of five personnel of the UAE Ministry of Defence,” the ministry added.
The statement concluded by extending condolences and sympathy to the family of the Moroccan national and expressing speedy recovery for the others who were injured.

Only days after calling on US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to formally recognize Ceuta and Melilla as occupied Moroccan territory, Michael Rubin has dropped another political bombshell.

The former Pentagon official and senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) is now urging Morocco to reclaim the spirit of the 1975 Green March and send unarmed civilians into the two Spanish-held enclaves.

In an op-ed published on March 16 by the Middle East Forum, Rubin laid out what Spain’s far-right and ultranationalist currents have long feared most – a direct, unambiguous call for Morocco to march into Ceuta and Melilla, dismantle the colonial fences, and raise the Moroccan flag.

Israel is preparing for the entry of thousands of foreign soldiers into the Gaza Strip as early as May 1, Israeli public broadcaster KAN 11 reported Saturday. The deployment is part of the International Stabilization Force (ISF) outlined in the Trump plan for Gaza.

The force will initially operate around the Palestinian city being built by the UAE near Rafah, then expand to other areas within the so-called Yellow Line. It will consist of approximately 5,000 Indonesian troops joined by dozens of soldiers from Kazakhstan, Morocco, Albania, and Kosovo.
