In December we had the pleasure to participate in the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange Frames of Belonging which took place in Madeira.
During the project the participants explored European culture through the experience of working side by side with young people from different countries, exchanging perspectives, and building genuine international friendships that will last far beyond the project itself.
On the practical side, the organizers from WAMAE immersed us in filmmaking from start to finish. Step by step, we learned how to develop an idea, shape a story, work with cameras and sound, frame scenes, and bring everything together in the editing process. For many, it was the first time seeing how a complete movie is created from the first concept to the final cut.
Some of the final films are genuinely astounding. Not only because of the technical quality, but because of the depth, honesty, and creativity that the participants brought into their stories.
Frames of Belonging showed what happens when young people with creativity and courage are put together - and we couldn’t be prouder of what this group created together.
