Cancer Support Mallorca is run by one part time staff member and a group of volunteers, therefore we cannot offer 24 hour coverage. While we will do our best to attend to any queries that come in during normal working hours (Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm) we cannot guarantee to always be available to respond to your calls. June is Immunotherapy Awareness Month 💙

Immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that helps the body’s own immune system recognise and fight cancer cells. For many people, it has brought new hope and improved outcomes across a range of cancer types.

While immunotherapy is not suitable for everyone, ongoing research and advances in treatment continue to change the future of cancer care every day 🔬✨

This month is about raising awareness, supporting those undergoing treatment, recognising the work of researchers and healthcare professionals, and helping people better understand the different treatment options that may be available.

It’s Volunteers Week and we simply want to say… THANK YOU 💛

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you are offering support to clients, helping at events, making phone calls, translating, driving, fundraising or simply being there to listen — every single contribution makes a difference. 🌟

It was so lovely to see so many of our volunteers at the recent meet up and to spend time together outside of our usual busy schedules.

We are also excited to welcome several new volunteers who have recently signed up to join us. We can’t wait to work alongside you and see the difference you will make to people affected by cancer across Mallorca 💕

🎉 Walk Against Cancer 2026 Final Total! 🎉

Thank you for your patience while we waited for a few final donations and payments to come in.

We are delighted to announce that Walk Against Cancer 2026 raised an amazing €6,038.63! 🚶‍♀️💙🚶‍♂️

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, sponsored, shared our campaign, joined our organised walks, or supported us along the way. Every step taken and every euro raised will help us continue providing free support services to people affected by cancer across Mallorca.

This fantastic total is a reflection of the kindness, generosity, and community spirit of all those involved. We couldn't have done it without you! 🙌

Today, on International Children’s Day, we celebrate the incredible strength, courage and kindness shown by children every single day 💛

For children facing cancer, and for those supporting a parent, sibling or loved one through cancer, life can sometimes feel confusing, scary and unfair. But you are never alone.

It is okay to feel sad, worried, angry or frightened sometimes — and it is also okay to laugh, play, dream and enjoy being a child. 🌈

At Cancer Support Mallorca we are thinking of all the amazing children and families navigating cancer together. Your bravery inspires us every day.

🎨 Weekly Art Group 🎨

Our weekly art group is a relaxed, welcoming space where people can come together to create, chat, and enjoy some time away from the stresses of daily life. No experience is needed — just a willingness to try something new and connect with others 💛

It’s a wonderful way to unwind, express yourself, and be part of a supportive community.

We are also looking to collaborate with artists from different backgrounds and specialities who might be willing to offer one-off sessions or regular workshops for the group. If you’re an artist and would like to get involved, we would love to hear from you 🎨✨

🎗️ Skin Cancer Awareness 🎗️

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world, yet many cases are linked to long-term sun exposure and could be prevented with simple protective habits.

Taking care of your skin isn’t just about hot weather — damage can build up over time, even on cloudy days. Small, consistent steps really matter: wearing SPF daily, avoiding sunburn, and protecting your skin during peak UV hours ☀️

It’s also important to be aware of anything new or changing on your skin. This includes sores that don’t heal, new patches, or spots that look different from the rest.

If something doesn’t look or feel right, don’t wait — get it checked. Trusting your instincts can make all the difference 💛

🔬 Clinical Trials Day 🔬

Today we recognise the importance of clinical trials in advancing cancer care and improving treatment options for the future.

Clinical trials are carefully designed research studies that help doctors and scientists understand new treatments, improve existing ones, and offer hope for better outcomes for patients.

Every treatment we have today has been made possible because of people who took part in trials in the past.

For some patients, clinical trials may offer access to new therapies when standard options are limited. However, they are always voluntary and carefully assessed by medical teams to ensure safety and suitability.

At Cancer Support Mallorca, we work with different agencies who can help explore whether there may be a suitable clinical trial available for you, depending on your diagnosis and circumstances.

We are grateful to all patients, families, researchers, and healthcare professionals involved in this vital work 💙

🎗️ Breast Cancer Awareness & Prevention 🎗️

Breast cancer prevention week is a reminder that looking after our health and being aware of changes can make a real difference.

While not all cases can be prevented, there are steps that can help reduce risk and support early detection:
• Be breast aware and check yourself regularly
• Attend routine screening appointments when invited
• Maintain a healthy lifestyle where possible (balanced diet, regular exercise, limiting alcohol)
• Speak to a healthcare professional if you notice any changes, such as lumps, changes in shape, skin dimpling, or ni**le changes

Early detection saves lives, and knowing your body is one of the most powerful tools you have. 💗

Let’s encourage awareness, open conversations, and support one another.
