Fun Quiz night🥳
Last Monday evening our super fun quizzers❤️ met up for another fantastic night of good fun, great food lots of laughs all while raising money for local kids in care here on the coast. Hosted at the beautiful Vall de Pop restaurant and organized by our fantastic Quizmasters Derek & Anne our amazing quizzers ❤️ raised a whopping €600👍. Well done everyone and a massive huge big thank you. Have a super great Sunday everyone 😎###

Amigos de Make A Smile Charity Shop 💝need your help!!!
Thanks to your fantastic donations of good quality clothes and household goodies and the tireless efforts of our amazing team of volunteers at our Amigos de Make a Smile😀charity shop (just up from the bottom roundabout open 10am till 1pm) on the main avenue in Teulada has been a huge success over the last eight years. The shop has helped local young families to buy good quality goodies at bargain prices and the money raised has then supported countless projects for the nine homes and one hundred and thirty plus children👥 in care here on the coast. If some of you wonderful folk❤️ have just 3 hours a week to spare and would like to join our awesome team of volunteers helping in our sorting warehouse or in the charity shop please contact Barbara on 634 307 385 email [email protected] or just pop in the shop for more details. Working together we can change the lives of these amazing kids👥 sadly in care.

Here’s a post about what we can achieve working together💝!!!
This is about the foresight of one of our amazing children’s Carers Verónica, head of the main Altea children’s home with 30 children in her care.
Veronica’s ambitious plan was to convert an old outside building into a safe space where children that have been in long term care can be reintroduced to a family member, maybe grandparents or an older sibling obviously under strict supervision. Hopefully this will give the children a wonderful opportunity when they have to leave the home at 18. Thanks to your fantastic donations of good quality clothes and household goodies and the tireless efforts of our amazing team of volunteers at our Amigos de Make A Smile😀charity shop (just up from the bottom roundabout) on the main avenue in Teulada, the challenge was turned into a reality. Raising a whopping €3000 our awesome team have created a fantastic place to complete Veronica’s dream. Working together we can change the lives of these amazing kids👥.

Ifach Golf club Moraira ❤️
Don’t you just love this community 😍!!! Last Sunday the members of the Ifach Golf club held a charity golf tournament to help Make A Smile 😊 support children 👥 in local children’s homes here on the coast. Hosted on the terrace of the fantastic Dos Toros Restaurant in San Jaime and supported by local businesses who donated amazing prizes towards the
Raffle and auction. The sun shone on a wonderful afternoon lunch while enjoying the sounds of the one and only fantastic group “The Entertainers ❤️”.
Here’s the best part, due to the outstanding generosity which included personal donations, raffle and auction the club raised a whopping €8.000 👏👏👏.
A huge big thank you to Chris and Paula and all the members, guests and sponsors for their outstanding kindness and generosity❤️.
What would these kids👥 in care do without this amazing community. 💝. Have a super Sunday everyone. 😎###

Last Monday night was another super fun Make A Smile 😀 quiz night, hosted at the fantastic Vall de Pop restaurant organized by our Quizmasters Derek & Anne. Our amazing quizzers ❤️ raised a whopping €450

Mission accomplished 🥳!!!
The journey of a life time!👍
Here’s the post so many of you wonderful folk❤️ have asked me about. I’m over the moon to report that yesterday evening twenty very excited youngsters and their carers completed their “Amigos de Make a Smile Santiago de Compostela 140k Challenge!” Over the last seven days our young intrepid explorers have walked 140k of this famous pilgrimage, testing themselves as well as building life long experiences. All Sponsored by our outstanding team of volunteers🤩 the Amigos de Make A Smile and your fantastic donations of unwanted good quality goodies to our charity shop 👏👏👏. When the going got a bit tough one of the amazing Carers said “It was all your fantastic “Good Luck” comments in the last post that kept the children going!” The power of love and support just shows that by working together we can change the lives of these kids in care. Have a great Sunday everyone and once again THANK YOU….😎###

The challenge Part 1👍
With the very strict legal restrictions that surround the lives of these children in care (no names, photos or any form of publicity👥) it’s always been a challenge to motivate the youngsters when there’s very little reward. However, with the foresight of a very special Carer and the support of our amazing Amigos de Make A Smile charity shop team over the last four years we have challenged the youngsters of two of our children’s homes (aged between 14 &16) to Improve school work, set standards in their care home and most of all to believe in themselves (and then the magic happened✨)
Here’s the great bit 😍!!!
THE REWARD & THE CHALLENGE Part 2 🥳!!! This weekend sixteen youngsters with their main Carers will set off from Alicante train station making the long journey to the Spanish / Portuguese borders where their challenge will be to walk 140k 😱 of this famous Pilgrimage in five days. On achieving this they will be awarded with a medal and a certificate to start their C.V.s and a fantastic celebration dinner when they return. Awesome stuff 👍!!!
This will be the Amigos de Make A Smile’s fourth year of challenging a group of youngsters in care to take on this life changing and team building experience. If I’ve learnt anything about these kids👥 over the last seventeen years it’s to just give them the opportunity and they will do the rest.🤩!!!

Padel with a Purpose 💝
Don’t you just love this coast!❤️Yesterday (Saturday) an amazing Easter Padel tournament was held at Sol Park Morira. Make A Smile 😃 and the children 👥 we work with were privileged to be their chosen sponsored charity for the day👍. The kids are going to love this🥳, Julia B and her fantastic team donated over 150 Easter Eggs😱 while raising a whopping €1000 euros for children in care here on the coast. A huge big thank you to everyone involved for all your kindness and generosity, a super big hug from over 130 kids, all their hard working Carers and from all the Make A Smile Team😘. Make A Smile Quiz night 🥳!!!!
What a great way to spend a Monday evening! Our awesome quizzers met up to test the old gray matter, enjoying a fantastic meal, a few glasses of vino and loads of laughs while raising a whopping €835 making a huge difference to children 👥 in local care homes this Easter school holidays 👏👏👏 A huge big thank you to all the teams at the Vall de Pop restaurant, big hugs to our quiz masters Derek & Anne 😘 and most of all a very special thank you to all our fantastic quizzers⭐️ for their continuing support.
