I've always believed that it's very important to show all you wonderful folk how and where we spend your generous donations, but it's very rare we have the opportunity to show you who benefits and the amazing heartwarming affects it has on their lives.
I'm proud to introduce to you a very special young lady who came into the then called Emaus group at a very young age and with your help and outstanding support and the guidance and love of those professional people we call the Carers,🌟 managed by pure strength of character to overcome all the nightmare horrors that life had managed to throw at her, blossoming into a beautiful intelligent young woman. Soraya, first care home was the Altea baby unit and after short stays in different safe houses spent her last eight years stay in the Emaus group in the Polop children's home, she's worked hard at school and embraced many Make A Smile educational projects, enjoyed and appreciated out of school activities so many of you have thankfully helped to fund.
Six years on after leaving the children’s home……
Last Sunday while having lunch at the Cafe Bistro Nou Fornet in the old town of Altea where Soraya is now working we had time to have a catch up. This fabulous young lady, full of life, talked about her last six years, falling in love with a handsome young man, giving birth to a beautiful boy who is now eighteen months old while building a future life for herself and her family. This just proves that working together as a community we can help support and change the lives of these young people who sadly spend their early years with no fault of their own in care homes here on the Costa Blanca, Soraya is a prime example of this and with your help and support has left her past where it should be, in the past.
