General Information:
The Australian Fencing Federation (AFF) is the National Governing Body of Fencing in Australia and has State and Territory members. As the NGB, AFF is responsible for furthering the interests of the sport of fencing, including fostering growth within the sport, Coaching and Officiating education, establishing domestic competition rules, athlete protection policies, and more.

AFF is recognised by the Australian Olympic Committee and is also responsible for selecting, training and supporting the Australian National Teams.

Some incredible results on the weekend in overseas events with Sora Robinson winning the Kano Koki cup in Japan in both Cadet and Junior categories, and Junyi Irina Zhang taking out first place in the Asian Cadet Cup held in Singapore!!

💜 Today, on Wear It Purple Day, we stand with LGBTQIA+ young people and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our fencing community.

As a new Pride in Sport member, the Australian Fencing Federation is taking action to create a more inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment for LGBTQIA+ participants in our sport.

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and empowered to be themselves, both on and off the piste. Together, we're helping build a future where every young person can belong and thrive. 💜

The Australian Fencing Federation is looking for expressions of interest from accredited Sabre coaches who are interested in becoming the National Assistant Coach (NAC) or State Coaches as part of the 2026/27 season (August 2026 – July 2027).

Applications will close at close of business at 5pm on Friday 28 August 2026.

Nominations to be part of the 2026/27 AFF High Performance Program are now open.

The nominations will be open until 5pm (AEST time) on Friday 28 August, with a revamped program set to get underway from the 1st of September.

Australian Fencing Federation welcomes the Australian Government's continued investment in Australian fencing through the Australian Sports Commission, including support for the Win Well and Play Well strategies. 🏅🤺

This investment strengthens pathways from grassroots participation to high performance, helping grow fencing as an inclusive sport while supporting Australian fencers on the road to LA2028 and Brisbane 2032.

The Australian Fencing Federation is proud to announce the Tasmanian Fencing Association Inc (TFA) as an AFF affiliate member.

This affiliation opens national competition opportunities for Tasmanian athletes and AFF accreditation pathways for coaches and referees.

We're excited to work together to grow fencing in Tasmania and create new opportunities for the state's fencing community.
