A charity dedicated to promoting a set of 8 soft skills around the world. We operate a classic sailing ship and do adventure trips to work on those skills.

We visit different European ports and raise awareness about the importance of those skills. Atyla ship Foundation is a non-for-profit organisation that operates the tall ship Atyla. During the summer season, ATYLA sails voyages of 1 to 4 weeks duration involving an innovative Educational Programme. During these voyages, the crew is composed of 4 professional Crewmembers, 1 Educational Coach, 4 Wat

ch Leaders, and 15 Trainees. During the winter ATYLA normally stays at her homeport, the Maritime Museum of Bilbao (Spain) where her crew runs local educational activities and complete essential maintenance works. The project is mainly funded by individuals that pay to sail with us as Trainees. Anyone aged from 15 and over is welcome on board as a Trainee on one or several consecutive trips. No previous sailing experience is required. As ATYLA is an International Training Ship, on board every voyage we sail with individuals from a diverse range of countries and cultural backgrounds, therefore the official language spoken aboard is English. The contributions from private and corporate sponsors are used to create a number of Trainee Scholarships, dedicated to ensuring that all people, regardless of economic background, are able to engage in the incredible experience aboard. After 11 life-changing years as a sail training vessel, Atyla is looking to move on to new owners or partners.

Atyla is a one of a kind design, made in the 1980s using traditional techniques inspired by vessels of the 18th century. Hand made in Spain’s northern coast, this wooden, two-mast topsail historic schooner measures 31m, 7m beam, 3m draught, 25m in height and is 100 tonnes. It has a capacity for 80 people for day trips and 24 people for longer trips. It is currently located in Portugalete, Spain and is ready and equipped for sailing and motoring.

Atyla es una goleta de diseño único, fabricado en la década de 1980 con técnicas tradicionales inspiradas en los barcos del siglo XVIII. Fabricado a mano en Bizkaia, este velero histórico de madera de dos mástiles mide 31 m, 7 m de manga, 3 m de calado, 25 m de altura y pesa 100 toneladas. Tiene capacidad para 80 personas para viajes de día y 24 personas para viajes más largos. Actualmente está ubicada en Portugalete, España y está listo y equipado para navegar a vela o motor.
