The first National Association of Decorative & Fine Arts (NADFAS) was started in 1965 by our founder Patricia Fay. In 1968 the national organisation was formed, becoming a charity in 1972. Some 40 years later our core aims remain the same – arts education and heritage conservation. The Arts Society now has more than 90,000 members Over 340 societies in the UK 10 in Europe and 5 in New Zealand
The Australian Association of ADFAS has more than 30 societies. in Spain, interest in the arts has a huge following among expatriates and Spanish alike. This interest has led to the creation of societies in Benahavis, Fuengirola, Nerja, San Roque, Jávea and Gibraltar. The Arts Society Benahavis has been established to serve the Marbella to Estepona catchment area. A programme of 8 illustrated lectures from October – May encompassing a broad range of topics which include:* Old Masters * Sculpture * Silverwork* Ceramics * Textiles * Architecture* Furniture design * Jewellery * MusicThere are more than 300 accredited NADFAS lecturers delivering high-quality, entertaining and informative lectures. In addition, there will be visits to museums, galleries, concerts and the ballet.
