The Association of Organisations of Mediterranean Businesswomen (AFAEMME) is a federation of businesswomen associations which was launched in 2002 in Barcelona (Spain). AFAEMME currently comprises 51 member organisations from 24 Mediterranean countries. AFAEMME is a coordinator of European and Mediterranean business and gender equality projects and ground-breaking research, a networking platform f

or businesswomen and women entrepreneurs from all over the Mediterranean, and a Euro-Mediterranean lobby for strengthening gender equality and facilitating the access of women to decision-making positions in the economy. AFAEMME serves as platform for international projects that promote gender equality in the labour market; projects through which its member organisations develop ground-breaking research and set up workshops, conferences and networking events. These activities are usually provided in collaboration with public institutions and the European Commission. AFAEMME is member of the European Commission's Network of Women in Decision-Making in Politics and the Economy; member of the Association of Mediterraean Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASCAME); member and treasurer of the ANIMA Investment Network; international partner of the Global Summit of Women; member of the Anna Lindh Foundation; organisation in special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC); and member of the Spanish Federation of Women Entrepreneurs (OMEGA).

👏 WomenTechEU is an EU-funded initiative designed to support and empower 160 early-stage women-led deep tech startups from across Europe!

Successful applicants will receive:
✅ €75,000 grant (non-dilutive)
✅ Six-month tailored business development programme including mentorship, training, and expert guidance led by
✅ Matchmaking and networking opportunities
✅ Support in bridging the gap to other EIC funding and support schemes.

Women TechEU will reserve 40% of its budget from each cut-off to those startups based in Widening areas.

✅ Today marks both the end of a successful chapter and the start of a new one for AFAEMME - Association of Organisations of Mediterranean Businesswomen - within the WomenTechEU journey.

🎯Over the past two years, WomenTechEU 2024–2026 has been much more than a project. It has been an inspiring experience that has supported talented women entrepreneurs, helped deep-tech startups grow, and contributed to a stronger and more inclusive innovation ecosystem across Europe.

A huge thank you to all our consortium partners for their collaboration, commitment, and teamwork. This achievement belongs to all of us. 👏

👋 We are also delighted to share that has been selected to join the new WomenTechEU consortium for the 2026–2028 edition. We are grateful for the trust placed in us and excited to continue supporting women innovators and entrepreneurs across Europe.
