The Plus Europe Conference is an annual event organized by several European civic entities. Its purpose is to strengthen various European civic institutions, to stimulate political debates, and to provide Recommendations to be submitted to European Institutions in order to create a different model of European governance. Each conference will cover topics related to European Governance, Financial
Convergence, Fiscal Harmonization, and Social Policies. In-depth discussions about these topics will lead us to the political union of our Europe. The +EC takes place every year in a different European city, as decided by the Plus Europe Organizing Committee. This rotating system is designed to include the varied national perspectives of Europe. The second Plus Europe conference will take place in Brussels from May 12nd-13th in 2014. The +EC was created with the purpose of integrating civic participation in European governance. The +EC is an entity that works to refocus citizen-government communication. It proposes a model of governance that is based on a system of mutual respect between the citizen and the government, where the citizen interacts with European Institutions in a clear-cut manner. The +EC will produce viable Recommendations. The +EC will work in close collaboration with European Institutions, such as The Commission and The Parliament, where it will propose recommendations to facilitate an integrated approach to European Governance. These proposals will be related to such key issues as Education, Research, Health, and Free Enterprise, as well as other timely issues. The +EC is not just an annual conference, but also operates year-round. It listens to the citizen and works to foster citizen networks that are mainly related to the business and professional environment. The +EC plays a pivotal role between governmental administrations, business communities, and other grassroots civic entities. The Plus Europe Conference has three branches - A European Organizing Committee (EUROCOM), and National Organizing Committees (NATCOMs), and an Advisory Board. A group of experts guided by the Advisory Board, works with EUROCOM to create practical Working Documents that address issues related to European political unification; these documents are then submitted to various European Institutions in hopes of future implementation.
