⬛️⬜️Assemblea and the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization have submitted a new communication to three UN Special Rapporteurs denouncing Spain's continued failure to address the Catalangate espionage scandal.

The submission also presents new evidence:
• Former Assemblea presidents Elisenda Paluzie and Jordi Sànchez were spied on for peaceful political and civil activities.
• Sànchez infections predate the known judicial authorisation.
• CNI denies spying on former board member Sònia Urpí despite multiple confirmations of infection.

Assemblea and UNPO call on the Special Rapporteurs to issue a joint public statement, send a follow-up letter to Spain, and undertake an official visit.

Victims deserve access to information, acknowledgement of violations and guarantees of non-repetition.

⬛️⬜️ On Saturday, Assemblea Nacional Catalana was at Canet Rock, the iconic Catalan music festival first held in 1975.

Young people filled the festival: dancing to Catalan music, wrapped in Estelada flags, and chanting for independence.

Long live Catalan music! Freedom for !

⬛️⬜️ Over a hundred organisations call for justice for Roger Espanyol, who lost an eye after being hit by a rubber bullet during the Spanish police operation against Catalonia’s 2017 independence referendum.

The trial will be key to determining whether the shot was intentional and whether it may constitute torture. This is the only case related to the police repression of 1 October that has reached trial, despite more than 1,000 people being injured that day.

Assemblea is taking part in the case as a private prosecution, standing with Roger and with all victims who have been denied truth, justice and reparation.

Even though the Mossos tried to prevent it, and despite the mainstream media's silence, the independence movement is still very much alive.

Against the Spanish nationalism that seeks to silence Gaudí’s Catalan identity and erase it from our streets, we are more present than ever.

He will be accompanied by Lluís Llach in the vice-presidency, Ariadna Heinz in the secretary and Blanca Currià in the treasury.

⬛️⬜️Assemblea Nacional Catalana board member Teresa Calveras participated in the 2026 OSCE Supplementary Human Dimension Meeting I.

Taking the floor at two sessions, she highlighted concerns about the deterioration of civic space, the criminalisation of political dissent and the lack of effective judicial oversight in Spain regarding the Catalan pro-independence movement.

On behalf of the organisation, Calveras reaffirmed the Catalan people’s right to self-determination as a democratic means to safeguard fundamental rights.
