Final Presentations Day! 💫

Last Saturday, our Web Development students came together to present their final projects to their peers, MigraCode staff, and volunteers.

It was such an inspiring day celebrating the culmination of nine months of hard work and collaboration, and even more special to see everyone supporting each other!

From investment tools and CV review apps to bill-splitting and much more, the creativity and quality of the projects were truly impressive.

🤗 A huge thank you to our incredible students for your hard work, enthusiasm, and commitment. We are very proud of everything you've achieved.

And thank you to for once again hosting our classes for this bootcamp, and to all our amazing volunteer teachers for supporting our students every step of the way. 💙

Ever wondered what a MigraCode class looks like? 👀

Follow Ly-Ly for a behind-the-scenes tour of our in-person Saturday classes, hosted at 's offices in the heart of Barcelona's tech neighbourhood.

Alongside our online learning, these in-person sessions give students the chance to connect with one another, learn face-to-face from our dedicated volunteer teachers, and work through ideas and questions together in a supportive environment.

Become a Full Stack Web Developer with MigraCode! 💻🌐

📣 Registrations are now open for our October Web Development bootcamp for migrant and refugee people in Barcelona .

This is a 9-month, part-time course in English designed for beginners, so no tech background needed. We’ll also have a women-only cohort available.

💼 As a MigraCode student, you will receive assistance not only with the course but with your transition into the tech sector through workshops, mentorships and career guidance.

💡 Volunteer Spotlight: Tatiana Bagnara

Meet Tatiana, a Cloud Engineer who has been volunteering with us at MigraCode Barcelona for the past two years, supporting students in our Amazon Web Services (AWS) re/Start Cloud Computing course.

MigraCode is Barcelona’s first coding academy for migrant and refugee people, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our dedicated volunteers.

So thank you, Tatiana, for bringing your expertise and enthusiasm to our classes and for your commitment to making the tech sector more accessible for all 💙

Introducing our new MigraCode project manager: Jun 🏵️

As the current project manager of our sister project CodeWomen, which they have led over the past two years, Jun will now manage both projects together.

This will allow a smooth collaboration between the two projects, working together towards our common goal of breaking down barriers to the tech industry faced by many migrants and bridging the digital gender gap, making the tech sector more accessible and diverse.

We’re excited for this new chapter in our project! 💻

It was fantastic to see so many people join our two workshops!

On Tuesday, our team presented our volunteering opportunities with and , sharing how tech professionals can use their skills to support our work in building a more accesible and diverse tech sector.

Then on Wednesday, CodeWomen+ volunteer Alexia led a hands-on workshop on neural networks. We were thrilled to see more than 100 people attend and even happier to see so many stay afterwards to ask questions and continue the conversation! 🫶

Some highlights from the Job Buddies Kick-off!✨

Last week, we launched the latest edition of the Job Buddies programme and welcomed the volunteers as well as some former students from Migracode🧑🏽‍💻

Job Buddies is an initiative that aims to assist and mentor MigraCode students & graduates with their progression into the tech sector and future careers. Each student or graduate is paired with a mentor who will help them with their CV, job search, interview preparation and much more 💻
