The network functions to set up social activities for our members, and also to help them navigate life in this beautiful city and region. ✨ BWN Annual General Meeting | May 20 ✨

Barcelona Women’s Network recently held its Annual General Meeting filled with connection, updates, inspiration, and exciting plans for the months ahead. 💙

We were especially honored to welcome Belen Monasterio from , who gave a wonderful presentation on BWN’s FAWCO Membership Refresh and the incredible benefits of being connected to a global network of women. 🌍

Through FAWCO, members gain access to international friendships, leadership opportunities, advocacy initiatives, conferences, educational resources, global collaborations, and a strong worldwide sisterhood empowering women across borders.

A special thank you as well to Ann Marie Marrow, Sandra Gogel, and our very own Gwen Perry for continuously strengthening these meaningful global connections within our community. ✨

During the AGM, we also shared updates on upcoming BWN events and causes, including the upcoming BWN Arts & Experiences Fundraiser on May 28th — a meaningful evening raising funds for Casal dels Infants to support vulnerable children and families through safe summer activities and community programs. 🎨🤍

At BWN, every gathering is more than an event — it is a reminder of the power of women coming together to create impact locally and globally.

Exploring the audiovisual spaces designed to empower women’s professional growth through podcasting, video creation, and digital storytelling. 🎙️✨Alongside inspiring women’s non-profit organizations in Barcelona.

A meaningful initiative supported by the Barcelona City Council empowering entrepreneurs, women in tech, leadership, and non-profit women’s organizations through innovation, media, collaboration, and growth.

✨ BWN Star Series ✨

On the occasion of Barcelona 2026, World Capital of Architecture, and the 100-year anniversary of Antoni Gaudí, we had the privilege of stepping inside the world of one of our own BWN “Stars” — Bénédicte Bodard

Decorative tiles are a defining signature of Gaudí and the Modernism movement. For over two decades, Bénédicte has been rescuing these pieces of history from obscurity through her studio, Mesa Bonita. Today, even museums seek her out when searching for lost treasures.

From her home and workshop in Sants, she welcomed us into her universe—sharing the story behind hydraulic tiles, their role in Barcelona’s identity, and offering rare insight into her restoration process.

We explored her remarkable private collection and witnessed how reclaimed Modernista tiles are transformed into bespoke furniture and contemporary artworks.

💙 Thank you, Bénédicte, for preserving and elevating the heritage of Barcelona—and for allowing us to experience it so intimately.

Today was all about Chernobyl Talks with Dr. Elisabeth Cardis — renowned public health expert, former World Health Organization researcher, and a leading voice in studying the long-term impact of Chernobyl. Elisabeth continues to make a meaningful impact, serving as Secretary of the BWN Board with dedication, insight, and heart.

This wasn’t surface-level learning.
This was depth. Science. Reality. Perspective.

An intimate session—exclusively for BWN members bringing together women both in person at Lidera and online, connected by curiosity and the desire to understand the world beyond headlines.
