World Pedestrian Day is here! 🚶🌎
Every strong public transport network depends on something simple: people must be able to reach it safely.
Walking and public transport are deeply connected. Safe sidewalks, crossings, accessible streets, and comfortable connections to stations can make transit easier to use while improving road safety and access for people of all ages and abilities.
ITDP has developed tools to help cities put these principles into practice. Pedestrians First provides a framework for understanding and improving walkability, while the Atlas of Sustainable City Transport helps policymakers and practitioners evaluate access and sustainable mobility across cities.
