In Nepal, many children with disabilities still do not have real access to adapted education, therapies or specialised services.

That is why a special education school cannot be just a classroom.

In Hetauda, Kathmandu and Bardibas, inclusion is sustained through education, physiotherapy, speech therapy, meals, transport, residence, family support and daily routines.

It is not only about a child “going to school”.

It is about having a place where they can learn, communicate, move better, gain autonomy and live with more dignity.

Your support helps sustain everything that makes this continuity possible.

Expansion is not only about opening new schools.

It is about making sure they can stay open, grow and support children and young people with intellectual disabilities in the long term.

That is why becoming a member matters.

Monthly support gives stability to a project that cannot depend only on one-time donations. It allows us to plan, sustain our local team, continue therapies, support families and keep building access to education where it is still deeply needed.

If you believe every child deserves a place to learn, grow and belong, become a member today.

In cooperation, people often talk a lot about “helping”.

But for us, helping also means recognising who sustains change every day.

And in Nepal, that change is sustained by a local team that knows the context, supports families, understands each child’s process and celebrates progress that often goes unnoticed from the outside.

It is not about arriving from outside to replace anyone.

It is about strengthening those who are already there, working with commitment, patience and enormous sensitivity.

Every achievement of our children and young people also speaks of them.

Of their consistency.
Of their training.
Of their daily presence.

Become a member to keep making it possible.

In Nepal, intellectual disability has long been surrounded by prejudice and stigma. That is why our work does not only begin when we open the door to a classroom.

It begins much earlier: by listening to families, supporting processes, building trust and proving that intellectual disability does not erase anyone’s abilities, rights or future.

Changing the way someone is seen may seem small.

But when that perspective changes, the place a person holds within their family, their community and their own story changes too.

Share this video to help break the stigma.

In a project like this, every contribution has something incredibly valuable: it allows us to plan ahead.

To know there will be food.
To know there will be materials.
To know the team will be able to keep working.
To know the schools will be able to open tomorrow, the day after, and next month.

And for a project that supports long-term processes, that is not a small detail.

It is stability.

That is why today we want to thank everyone who is already part of this network: members, donors and people who have contributed at some point.

And if you are not yet part of it, you don’t have to wait until you can make a large contribution.

Every bit of help keeps this project moving forward.

Become a member and help us continue sustaining opportunities in Nepal.

On Monday night, a hurricane hit our school residence in Hetauda.

The residence is not just a building.

It is the home of children with disabilities who, for the first time in their lives, found a safe place where they could feel loved, protected and supported.

The main door was blown away. The windows shattered. Part of the walls were damaged.

Thankfully, all the children are safe.

Now we urgently need help to rebuild their home🏠

You can support us through Fundación Si Asha💛:

• Bank transfer: IBAN: ES29 3025 0002 4814 3344 8836

Thank you for always standing by our children.

Donating should not come from pity.
It should come from belief.

In Nepal, many children and young people with intellectual disabilities grow up in a society that does not always expect anything from them.

But when someone chooses to support this project, they are doing something powerful: they are believing in their abilities, in their autonomy, and in their right to have a different future.

Every donation helps sustain spaces where they can learn, grow, and be recognised for who they are, not for the limits others have placed on them.

Donate today and become part of that future.

Our volunteering model is built around something very specific: strengthening the work that already exists.

Volunteers contribute through ongoing training for local staff, supporting areas such as education, the social field, and health.

Volunteering here is not about replacing local professionals. It is about sharing knowledge, supporting teachers and staff, and helping the whole project grow stronger over time.

Behind every handmade product, there is a process that often goes unseen.

In our occupational workshop, young people with intellectual disabilities in Nepal are not only creating bracelets, incense sticks, handmade roses, and other products.

They are learning practical skills.
They are gaining confidence.
They are strengthening their autonomy.
They are preparing for adult life.

For many of them, this workshop is one of the only spaces where their abilities are recognised, supported, and valued.

This is what inclusion looks like in practice: not just opening doors, but creating real opportunities to grow.

Behind every child, there is a family carrying worries, routines, decisions, and hope.

On International Day of Families, we want to honour that wider circle too. Because when a child gains access to education, support, and opportunity, the impact reaches far beyond the classroom. The UN observes the International Day of Families every 15 May, and the 2026 observance focuses on families, inequalities, and child well-being.
