HOY PODEMOS COMPARTIR LAS DECLARACIONES OFICIALES DEL CONCEJAL DE BIENESTAR ANIMAL DE SAN BARTOLOMÉ.

Tras la difusión de unas imágenes estremecedoras en las que se veía cómo un hombre agredía violentamente a una perrita de apenas 9 meses, ADEMAL denunció los hechos ante las autoridades y alertó a la Policía Local.

La actuación fue inmediata. La Policía Local acudió al domicilio y la perrita fue trasladada al Centro de Protección Animal de San Bartolomé, donde permanece actualmente bajo custodia y recibiendo atención veterinaria y cuidados.

Según explica Fernando Vadillo, concejal de Bienestar Animal, la perrita fue revisada por el veterinario y permanecerá en el Centro de Protección Animal mientras se desarrolla el procedimiento iniciado por SEPRONA y la Guardia Civil.

Desde ADEMAL queremos agradecer la rápida intervención de la Policía Local y la atención que está recibiendo la pequeña en el Centro de Protección Animal.

Ahora queda esperar que la investigación avance y que la Justicia determine las responsabilidades correspondientes.

Following the release of distressing images showing a man violently assaulting a puppy barely 9 months old, ADEMAL reported the incident to the authorities and alerted the Local Police.

The response was immediate. The Local Police went to the home, and the puppy was transferred to the San Bartolomé Animal Protection Centre, where she currently remains under their care and is receiving veterinary attention and proper care.

According to Fernando Vadillo, Councillor for Animal Welfare, the puppy was examined by a veterinarian and will remain at the Animal Protection Centre while the proceedings initiated by SEPRONA and the Guardia Civil are underway.

At ADEMAL, we would like to thank the Local Police for their swift intervention and the care the little one is receiving at the Animal Protection Centre.

Now we must wait for the investigation to move forward and for the Justice System to determine the corresponding responsibilities.

HEUTE KÖNNEN WIR DIE OFFIZIELLEN ERKLÄRUNGEN DES GEMEINDERATS FÜR TIERSCHUTZ VON SAN BARTOLOMÉ VERÖFFENTLICHEN.

Nach der Verbreitung erschütternder Bilder, auf denen zu sehen war, wie ein Mann eine gerade einmal 9 Monate alte Hündin brutal misshandelte, erstattete ADEMAL Anzeige bei den zuständigen Behörden und informierte die örtliche Polizei.

Die Reaktion erfolgte umgehend. Die örtliche Polizei begab sich zum Wohnort, und die kleine Hündin wurde in das Tierschutzzentrum von San Bartolomé gebracht. Dort befindet sie sich derzeit in Obhut und erhält tierärztliche Versorgung und die notwendige Betreuung.

Wie Fernando Vadillo, Gemeinderat für Tierschutz, erklärt, wurde die Hündin von einem Tierarzt untersucht. Sie wird im Tierschutzzentrum bleiben, während das von SEPRONA und der Guardia Civil eingeleitete Verfahren läuft.

ADEMAL möchte sich bei der örtlichen Polizei für das schnelle Eingreifen sowie beim Tierschutzzentrum von San Bartolomé für die Betreuung der Kleinen bedanken.

Nun bleibt abzuwarten, wie die Ermittlungen voranschreiten und welche Verantwortlichkeiten die Justiz feststellen wird.

Tras la difusión de unas imágenes de un presunto caso de maltrato animal en San Bartolomé, ADEMAL Lanzarote presentó los hechos ante el SEPRONA y avisó a la Policía Local. Posteriormente, difundimos las imágenes para denunciar lo ocurrido y contribuir a que se investigue.

La publicación se hizo viral, pero también han aparecido insultos, datos personales y amenazas de muerte contra la persona implicada.

ADEMAL Lanzarote rechaza tajantemente cualquier amenaza, violencia o linchamiento. Nadie que actúe de esta manera habla en nombre de nuestra asociación ni cuenta con nuestro respaldo.

La indignación por el maltrato animal es legítima. La violencia no.

El caso debe investigarse y será la justicia quien determine las responsabilidades correspondientes.

ADEMAL verurteilt Tierquälerei – aber auch Drohungen❗️

Nach der Veröffentlichung von Bildern eines mutmaßlichen Falls von Tierquälerei in San Bartolomé meldete ADEMAL den Vorfall dem SEPRONA und informierte die örtliche Polizei. Anschließend veröffentlichten wir die Bilder, um den Vorfall anzuprangern und zu einer Untersuchung beizutragen.

Der Beitrag verbreitete sich schnell viral. Gleichzeitig kam es jedoch zu Beleidigungen, der Veröffentlichung persönlicher Daten und sogar Todesdrohungen gegen die betreffende Person.

ADEMAL lehnt jede Form von Drohungen, Gewalt und öffentlicher Hetze entschieden ab. Personen, die auf diese Weise handeln, sprechen nicht im Namen unseres Vereins und haben nicht unsere Unterstützung.

Die Empörung über Tierquälerei ist verständlich und berechtigt. Gewalt ist es nicht.

Der Fall muss untersucht werden. Es ist Aufgabe der Justiz, die entsprechenden Verantwortlichkeiten festzustellen.

⚠️2 PERROS DE CAZA MU***OS AYER EN HARÍA

Dos perros de caza murieron ayer en el municipio de Haría, presuntamente por envenenamiento.

El pasado 6 de agosto, el Cabildo de Lanzarote anunciaba un dispositivo especial de inspección y vigilancia en los cotos de caza, con agentes medioambientales y la Unidad Canina de Gesplan.

Según el propio Cabildo, el objetivo era detectar cebos envenenados, trampas y otras prácticas prohibidas, además de garantizar una actividad cinegética «responsable y segura».

Pero apenas unos días después, dos perros han mu**to envenenados.

Y esto no es un hecho aislado.

El año pasado ya murieron perros en Haría por envenenamiento, y se detectaron varios casos en diferentes zonas del municipio. El propio Cabildo tuvo que alertar entonces sobre el peligro.

Entonces preguntamos:

❓ ¿Cuándo va a sacar el Cabildo una nueva nota de prensa para advertir del peligro?

❓ ¿Dónde está ese dispositivo especial de vigilancia que se anunció hace apenas unos días?

❓ ¿Cuántos animales tienen que morir para que estas medidas sean realmente efectivas?

Porque anunciar campañas, controles y dispositivos de vigilancia no sirve de nada si el veneno sigue acabando con la vida de animales.

Una vez más, la realidad demuestra que las palabras no son suficientes.

La caza no es segura.
La caza es muerte.

⚠️2 HUNTING DOGS FOUND DEAD YESTERDAY IN HARÍA

Two hunting dogs died yesterday in the municipality of Haría, allegedly as a result of poisoning.

On August 6, the Lanzarote Island Council announced a special inspection and surveillance operation in hunting grounds, involving environmental officers and Gesplan’s Canine Unit.

According to the Council itself, the aim was to detect poisoned bait, traps and other prohibited practices, as well as to ensure a “responsible and safe” hunting activity.

Yet just a few days later, two dogs have died from poisoning.

And this is not an isolated incident.

Last year, dogs also died from poisoning in Haría, and several cases were detected in different areas of the municipality. The Island Council itself had to issue a warning about the danger at the time.

So we ask:

❓ When will the Island Council issue a new press release to warn about the danger?

❓ Where is the special surveillance operation that was announced just a few days ago?

❓ How many animals have to die before these measures become truly effective?

Because announcing campaigns, inspections and surveillance operations means nothing if poison continues to take the lives of animals.

Once again, reality shows that words are not enough.

Hunting is not safe.
Hunting means death.

⚠️2 JAGDHUNDE GESTERN IN HARÍA GESTORBEN

Gestern sind in der Gemeinde Haría zwei Jagdhunde gestorben, vermutlich durch eine Vergiftung.

Am 6. August kündigte der Cabildo von Lanzarote einen speziellen Kontroll- und Überwachungseinsatz in den Jagdgebieten an, an dem Umweltbeamte und die Hundestaffel von Gesplan beteiligt sind.

Nach Angaben des Cabildos sollte damit Giftköder, Fallen und andere verbotene Praktiken aufgedeckt und gleichzeitig eine „verantwortungsvolle und sichere Jagd“ gewährleistet werden.

Doch nur wenige Tage später sind zwei Hunde an einer Vergiftung gestorben.

Und das ist kein Einzelfall.

Bereits im vergangenen Jahr starben in Haría Hunde durch Vergiftungen. In verschiedenen Gebieten der Gemeinde wurden mehrere Fälle festgestellt. Der Cabildo musste damals selbst vor der Gefahr warnen.

Deshalb fragen wir:

❓ Wann wird der Cabildo erneut eine Pressemitteilung veröffentlichen, um vor der Gefahr zu warnen?

❓ Wo ist der spezielle Überwachungseinsatz, der erst vor wenigen Tagen angekündigt wurde?

❓ Wie viele Tiere müssen noch sterben, damit diese Maßnahmen tatsächlich wirksam werden?

Denn es bringt nichts, Kampagnen, Kontrollen und Überwachungsmaßnahmen anzukündigen, wenn Gift weiterhin das Leben von Tieren fordert.

Wieder einmal zeigt die Realität, dass Worte nicht ausreichen.

Die Jagd ist nicht sicher.
Die Jagd bedeutet Tod.

¿Un perro mu**to y otros perros siguen allí?

En Teguise, ADEMAL vuelve a denunciar una situación que ya fue comunicada en 2022.

El pasado 9 de agosto, durante una nueva visita a un terreno de Calle Malvarosa, encontramos varios perros y el cadáver de otro perro, cubierto de cal.

Posteriormente supimos que el animal estaba identificado con microchip.

❓ ¿Quién era su responsable?
❓ ¿Qué le ocurrió?
❓ ¿Cuánto tiempo llevaba allí?
❓ ¿Por qué había un cadáver en un lugar al que tenían acceso otros animales?

Lo más preocupante: no es un hecho aislado. ADEMAL ya había denunciado este lugar en 2022 y existen imágenes de animales allí también en 2023.

Cuatro años después, seguimos encontrando animales en el mismo lugar. Y ahora, un perro mu**to.

Hemos pedido a SEPRONA una actuación urgente para esclarecer lo ocurrido y proteger a los animales que continúan allí.

Un microchip puede poner nombre a un animal.
Ahora necesitamos saber qué pasó con él.

In Teguise, ADEMAL is once again reporting a situation that was already reported in 2022.

In Teguise zeigt ADEMAL erneut eine Situation an, die bereits 2022 gemeldet wurde.

Am 9. August fanden wir bei einem erneuten Besuch eines Grundstücks in der Calle Malvarosa mehrere Hunde sowie den Kadaver eines weiteren Hundes, der mit Kalk bedeckt war.

Später erfuhren wir, dass das Tier mit einem Mikrochip gekennzeichnet war.

❓ Wer war für diesen Hund verantwortlich?
❓ Was ist mit ihm passiert?
❓ Wie lange lag er dort?
❓ Warum befand sich ein toter Hund an einem Ort, zu dem andere Tiere Zugang hatten?

Besonders besorgniserregend: Dies ist kein Einzelfall. ADEMAL hatte diesen Ort bereits 2022 gemeldet, und es gibt Fotos von Tieren, die sich auch 2023 dort befanden.

Vier Jahre später finden wir noch immer Tiere an diesem Ort. Und jetzt einen toten Hund.

Wir haben SEPRONA um ein dringendes Einschreiten gebeten, um die Umstände zu klären und die Tiere zu schützen, die weiterhin dort leben.

Ein Mikrochip kann einem Tier einen Namen geben.
Jetzt müssen wir wissen, was mit ihm passiert ist.

Tener perros para la actividad cinegética no autoriza a mantenerlos en condiciones inadecuadas.

La legislación no ampara:

❌ Instalaciones insalubres o sin refugio.
❌ Abandono o negligencia.
❌ Incumplir la Ley 8/1991 de Protección de los Animales.

Si conoces un posible caso de maltrato o de incumplimiento de la normativa, denúncialo.

Porque el bienestar animal no depende de la función del animal, sino del cumplimiento de la ley.

La caza no justifica el maltrato.

Comienza la temporada de caza

📅 El próximo 16 de agosto comienza la temporada de caza en Lanzarote.

Con el inicio de la temporada queremos recordar algo que muchas personas desconocen:
Los perros de caza en Canarias están protegidos por la ley.

Aunque la Ley estatal 7/2023 excluye a los perros utilizados para la actividad cinegética, en Canarias siguen estando protegidos por la Ley 8/1991 de Protección de los Animales y por la Ley 7/1998 de Caza de Canarias.

Ser un perro de caza no significa perder sus derechos. Su bienestar sigue siendo una obligación legal.
En los próximos días explicaremos cuáles son las obligaciones de sus propietarios y qué situaciones no permite la legislación.

La caza nunca puede ser una excusa para el maltrato.

Cada vez somos más… y mejores.

Más personas, porque hemos comprendido la importancia de unirnos frente a la adversidad. Y mejores, porque este tiempo en el que muchos alimentadores han permanecido invisibles ha servido para formarnos, conocer en profundidad la legislación vigente, optimizar recursos, mejorar la eficacia de nuestro trabajo, ampliar conocimientos en etología y veterinaria y, sobre todo, entender que es fundamental tender puentes con las administraciones municipales para trabajar en una misma dirección.

El viernes vivimos una tarde muy especial y llena de ilusión en el Teleclub de Punta Mujeres, escenario de la presentación de las compañeras de la asociación felina FREYA. 🐱

Su presidenta, Naty, junto a su junta directiva y con la inestimable colaboración del concejal de Bienestar Animal de Haría, Marcos Lemes, ofrecieron un agradable ágape a todos los asistentes y a las asociaciones animalistas amigas que quisieron acompañarlas en este importante comienzo.

Desde ADEMAL Lanzarote, les deseamos muchísimo éxito en esta nueva etapa. Estamos convencidos de que, con esfuerzo, compromiso y trabajo conjunto, lograrán grandes cosas por el bienestar de los gatos del municipio.

We are growing bigger… and stronger.

More people, because we have come to understand the importance of standing together in the face of adversity. And stronger, because this period, during which many community cat caregivers have worked quietly and without recognition, has been an opportunity to deepen our knowledge of current legislation, make better use of available resources, improve the effectiveness of our work, expand our understanding of animal behaviour and veterinary care, and, above all, realize the importance of building bridges with local authorities so that we can work towards the same goal.

Friday, we enjoyed a wonderful and uplifting afternoon at the Teleclub of Punta Mujeres, where the new feline welfare association FREYA was officially introduced. 🐱

Its president, Naty, together with the board of directors and with the invaluable support of Haría's Councillor for Animal Welfare, Marcos Lemes, welcomed everyone with a lovely gathering and refreshments, bringing together attendees and fellow animal welfare associations.

From ADEMAL Lanzarote, we wish you every success in this new chapter. We are confident that your dedication, commitment and teamwork will make a real difference to the welfare of the municipality's cats.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch, FREYA!

Wir werden immer mehr … und immer stärker.

Mehr Menschen, weil wir erkannt haben, wie wichtig es ist, in schwierigen Zeiten zusammenzuhalten. Und stärker, weil wir die Zeit, in der viele Katzenbetreuerinnen und Katzenbetreuer im Hintergrund und oft unsichtbar gearbeitet haben, genutzt haben, um uns weiterzubilden: Wir haben die geltende Gesetzgebung vertieft, unsere Ressourcen besser eingesetzt, unsere Arbeit effizienter gestaltet, unser Wissen über Ethologie und Tiermedizin erweitert und vor allem verstanden, wie wichtig es ist, Brücken zu den kommunalen Verwaltungen zu bauen, damit wir gemeinsam auf dasselbe Ziel hinarbeiten.

Gestern durften wir einen wunderschönen und stimmungsvollen Nachmittag im Teleclub von Punta Mujeres erleben, wo sich der neue Katzenschutzverein FREYA offiziell vorgestellt hat. 🐱

Die Vorsitzende Naty, ihr Vorstand sowie der Beigeordnete für Tierschutz der Gemeinde Haría, Marcos Lemes, luden alle Anwesenden und die befreundeten Tierschutzvereine zu einem gemütlichen Beisammensein mit einem kleinen Imbiss ein.

ADEMAL Lanzarote wünscht euch von Herzen viel Erfolg auf diesem neuen Weg. Wir sind überzeugt, dass ihr mit eurem Engagement, eurer Leidenschaft und der Zusammenarbeit viel für das Wohl der Katzen in eurer Gemeinde erreichen werdet.

Hace casi cinco años, a petición de ADEMAL Lanzarote, se celebró la primera reunión con la directiva de la Sociedad de Cazadores de Lanzarote.

En aquel encuentro ocurrió algo que jamás esperábamos: fueron los propios representantes de la Sociedad de Cazadores quienes nos confesaron que habían presentado denuncias muy graves contra otros cazadores ante la Consejería de Caza del Cabildo de Lanzarote.

¿El resultado? Ninguna de esas denuncias fue tramitada. Según sus propias palabras, "quedaron en el fondo de un cajón".

Cinco años después, la ley ha cambiado, la sensibilidad de la sociedad también y los responsables políticos ya no son los mismos.

El Sr. Armando Santana ya ha demostrado, como ocurrió en el caso de la Granja Experimental en 2026, que cuando toca aplicar la ley, actúa con agilidad, sentido común y en defensa del bienestar animal. Ese ha sido su compromiso, expresado públicamente durante la I Gala de Bienestar Animal.

Por eso, desde ADEMAL Lanzarote confiamos en que todas las denuncias relacionadas con el bienestar animal y la actividad cinegética sean tramitadas con el rigor que la ley exige y no vuelvan a quedar olvidadas en un cajón.

Almost five years ago, at the request of ADEMAL Lanzarote, the first meeting was held with the board of the Lanzarote Hunters' Association.

During that meeting, something happened that we never expected: the representatives of the Hunters' Association themselves admitted that they had filed very serious complaints against other hunters with the Hunting Department of the Lanzarote Island Council.

The result? Not a single one of those complaints was processed. In their own words, they "ended up at the bottom of a drawer."

Five years later, the law has changed, public awareness has grown, and the people responsible are no longer the same.

Mr. Armando Santana has already shown, as in the 2026 Experimental Farm case, that when it is time to enforce the law, he acts swiftly, with common sense, and in the best interests of animal welfare. This has been his personal commitment, which he publicly expressed during the 1st Animal Welfare Gala.

For this reason, ADEMAL Lanzarote trusts that all complaints related to animal welfare and hunting activities will be handled with the seriousness required by law and will never again be left forgotten in a drawer.

Vor fast fünf Jahren fand auf Initiative von ADEMAL Lanzarote das erste Treffen mit dem Vorstand der Jägervereinigung von Lanzarote statt.

Während dieses Treffens geschah etwas, womit wir niemals gerechnet hätten: Die Vertreter der Jägervereinigung selbst gestanden, dass sie wegen sehr schwerwiegender Vorfälle Anzeigen gegen andere Jäger bei der Jagdbehörde des Cabildo von Lanzarote eingereicht hatten.

Das Ergebnis? Keine einzige dieser Anzeigen wurde bearbeitet. Mit ihren eigenen Worten: „Sie landeten ganz unten in einer Schublade.“

Fünf Jahre später haben sich die Gesetze geändert, das Bewusstsein der Gesellschaft ist gewachsen und auch die Verantwortlichen sind heute andere.

Herr Armando Santana hat bereits – wie im Fall der Versuchsfarm im Jahr 2026 – bewiesen, dass er handelt, wenn das Gesetz angewendet werden muss: schnell, mit gesundem Menschenverstand und im Sinne des Tierschutzes. Dieses persönliche Engagement hat er auch öffentlich bei der 1. Gala für Tierschutz bekräftigt.

Deshalb vertraut ADEMAL Lanzarote darauf, dass künftig alle Anzeigen im Zusammenhang mit Tierschutz und der Jagd mit der gesetzlich vorgeschriebenen Sorgfalt bearbeitet werden und nie wieder in einer Schublade verschwinden.
