Hi guys I just wanted to say what an incredible and productive week it's been 🙂

I removed 75 kilos of trash mostly from Fañabe and Torviscas and I have now took Playa De Abajo in Callao Salvaje under my wing after finding a crazy amount of microplastics on the surface.

I'm determined to remove it all as it's such a lovely place. It just needs some tender loving care!

I'd like to thank a lovely lady I met called Marjan who bought 7 of my handmade keyrings that I make from the plastic I find in the sea and a huge thank you to Andrew U for his very kind donation to my Gofundme page.

As you probably know I currently receive no funding for the work I do so all amounts are massively appreciated and put to hard work cleaning the ocean.

This is all on a voluntary basis so this will help me pay for air fills, parking, fuel and equipment maintenance so I can keep going with my non profit mission 🙏

My mission for the next few months is to remove all the plastic and netting from this beautiful beach.
The bay is home to at least one Atlantic Green Turtle so for their sake that I will make this cove a priority and restore it so that it is clean, healthy and trash free!

Yesterday I visited a dive site I've only been to once a year or so ago, Playa de Abajo in Callao Salvaje on the South West of the island.

There were so many fish including a huge school of Barracuda and lots of tiny new born fry which is always fantastic to see.

There is also a resident Atlantic Green Turtle but I didn't see it this time unfortunately.

While the bay itself was virtually trash free apart from a few bits here and there the waters edge was teaming with plastic and netting.

This can have devastating consequences for turtles as they mistake the plastic as food and the ropes and netting can cause entanglement which sadly result in suffocating and drowning.

I will be making this bay a priority over the coming months untill it's trash free as its a lovely place.

Yesterday's dive for ocean trash was very productive.

I've been focusing on Playa Fañabe for some time now as the breakwalls are full of trash but after chipping away for a few weeks I'm beginning to see a difference 🙂

There is a lot of plastic down there unfortunately that will take a while.

I found a few pairs of sunglasses, if you recognise them give me a shout.

Two beaches, three bags of trash collected

I found a mermaid, a huge ruby and I even found another body board 😮
That's two in the last two weeks!
The board is now available to buy at Live PAWS Rescued Animals Tenerife charity shop just underneath the Santa Maria Hotel in Costa Adeje.

The reason I clean the beaches every day is to prevent the trash from entering the ocean where it becomes a lot more difficult and dangerous to collect.

Please help me by binning your rubbish when you leave the beach.

Absolutely amazing morning walking some beautiful dogs for Refugio de Animales K9 Tenerife

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Hazel and her super friendly team for making me feel so welcome.

I even bagged myself an honoury K9 vest top for just €7 which will help provide food, water and shelter for these little angels while they patiently wait for their forever homes, and yes it had to be purple! 💜

I've been here a few times now and I've made some really nice friends who, like me, love animals ❤️🐾

They also have beautiful cats and kittens also waiting to be fostered or adopted.

If you have a spare hour or so come and meet the team and make some furry friends.

P.s It's a great way to get your daily steps in 🙂
