Center Of Excellence - Fayoum Farmer Field Schools Expanding FFS approach in accordance with the policy of national government (MALR) to integrate this

Dutch consortium, comprising of Van Hall Larenstein University (VHL) and the Centre for Development Innovation (CDI) – both of the Wageningen University & Research centre (WUR), and the International Centre for development-oriented research in Agriculture (ICRA) together with Fayoum University in Fayoum/ Egypt have joint in a consortium aiming to support FAD in establishment the Centre of Excellen

ce, equivalent to the international houses of expertise, raising the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural and rural extension and becomes an active member of the international network of farmer field schools. The main functions of the CoE representing a priority in the first stage of establishment of the CoE:
1. Participate in the consolidation and repetition of the FFS approach in the various governorates of Egypt.
2. Develop, design and implement high-quality training programs to raise the technical and administrative efficiency of trainers and main cadres of FFS and qualify extension cadre specialized in the areas of agricultural and livestock production, rural development and related environmental aspects.
3. Develop monitoring and evaluation systems and quality control services for FFS programs and make these systems available at national level.
4. Organize and facilitate the documentation, dissemination and exchange of information and knowledge using updated information technology to deliver these information to the beneficiaries and stakeholders.
5. Encourage, coordinate among, and participate with the specialized research institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, universities, and other research bodies in the implementation of scientific studies and applied research in the areas of agricultural and rural development and update these researches regularly.
6. Strengthen the components of "gender" and "labour market”- (to improve the living standards of rural households) in the activities of agricultural and rural extension.
7. Increase the capacity of the CoE so that it:
- has a highly qualified technical and administrative staff.
- becomes connected with the regional and the international community in its field of work.
- has distinctive training facilities and capabilities.
- has the ability to collaborate and form partnerships with organizations, universities and similar institutions (governmental and non-governmental), civil society organizations and the private sector working in relevant fields.

من اجل دعم مديرية الزراعة بالفيوم لإنشاء مركز التميز للمدارس الحقلية للمزارعين، قامت جامعة Van Hall Larenstein (VHL) للعلوم التطبيقية ومركز الإبداع للتنمية (CDI) وكلاهما من جامعة فاخنينجنين (WUR)، وأيضا المركز الدولي للتنمية في البحوث الموجهة نحو الزراعة (ICRA) بالتعاون مع جامعة الفيوم (FU) في محافظة الفيوم بمصر بتشكيل ائتلاف الشركات (الكونسورتيوم) بهدف أن يكون مركزا للتميز - مناظرا لبيوت الخبرة العالمية - علي المستويين المحلي والإقليمي يساهم في رفع كفاءة وفعالية الإرشاد الزراعي والريفي وعضوا فاعلا في الشبكة الدولية للمدارس الحقلية للمزارعين.

هناك عدد من الأوليات التي ستكون محور التركيز خلال المرحلة الأولي لإنشاء مركز التميز
1- المشاركة في نشر وتدعيم منهج المدارس الحقلية في مختلف المحافظات.
2- تطوير وتصميم وتنفيذ برامج تدريبية ذات جودة عالية لرفع الكفاءة الفنية والإدارية للمدربين والكوادر الأساسية الخاصة بالمدارس الحقلية وتأهيل كوادر إرشادية متخصصة في مجالات الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني والتنمية الريفية والنواحي البيئية ذات الصلة.
3- تطوير نظم المتابعة والتقييم وخدمات مراقبة الجودة الخاصة ببرامج المدارس الحقلية للمزارعين وتوفير هذه النظم علي المستوي القومي.
4- تنظيم وتسهيل توثيق ونشر وتبادل المعلومات والمعرفة باستخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات المحدثة لإيصالها للمستفيدين والأطراف المعنية.
5- دعم التنسيق والتعاون مع المؤسسات البحثية المتخصصة بوزارة الزراعة والجامعات والجهات البحثية الأخرى في تنفيذ الدراسات العلمية والبحوث التطبيقية في مجالات التنمية الزراعية والريفية وتحديثها علي نحو منتظم.
6- تعزيز دور النوع الاجتماعي وسوق العمالة في أنشطة الإرشاد الزراعي والريفي لتحسين مستوي معيشة الأسر الريفية.
7- رفع قدرة مركز التميز بحيث يكون:
- لديه كوادر مؤهلة علي المستوي الإداري والفني.
- التشبيك علي المستوي الإقليمي والدولي في مجال اختصاصه.
- لديه تسهيلات وإمكانات تدريبية مميزة.
- لديه القدرة علي التعاون وتكوين شراكات مع المنظمات والجامعات والمعاهد المماثلة (حكومية وغير حكومية) ومنظمات المجتمع المدني والقطاع الخاص ذات الصلة بمجال عمله.
