Tawasol is an NGO that was founded in 2008 and registered at the Ministry of Social Solidarity and has a community school within it, which is certified by the Ministry of Education, it enrolls school dropouts from 4 slum areas in Cairo. Tawasol Egypt’s products are made by low-income families living in slum areas and informal settlements in Cairo. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our products
are given back to the communities that made them, either as artisans’ wages or to help sustain community development projects. Tawasol Egypt supports two community development initiatives. The first is Tawasol for Development of Istabl Antar, and its centerpiece Tawasol NGO School, which provides free education to 160 children in Istabl Antar, Ezzbet Khairallah and Batn el Baara informal settlements in Cairo. The school provides a high quality, integrated curriculum certified by the Ministry of Education, where students learn a craft in addition to attending regular classes. This helps to ensure that the children remain in school and do not drop out, because it provides them with much-needed additional income to help support their families. Tawasol School also focuses on the development of students' talents through theatre, choir, performance and music classes. By purchasing any of our products, you are not only acquiring a unique, high-quality Egyptian item to brighten your home or workspace, you are also directly helping tens of families in some of the poorest areas in Cairo. Your support will help to fulfill basic needs and create future opportunities. Our organization is a non-profit and we have done our best to ensure that every step of our production and business cycle will fully support the communities in which we operate – even our deliverymen are from the same communities and are able to generate some income from the delivery of products to our customers. We accept custom orders and can personalize certain items based on availability of materials. We can also prepare bulk orders with sufficient advance notice. جمعية تواصل لتنمية اسطبل عنتر: جمعية مدرسة تواصل التى تقدم التعليم المجانى لعدد (160) طالب فى منطقة اسطبل عنتر وعزبة خير الله وبطن البقر وهذه المناطق تعتبر مناطق عشوائية.
وتوفر المدرسة مناهج تعليمية منكاملة مصدقة من وزارة التربية والتعليم بجودة عالية حيث يتعلم الطلاب الحرف اليدوية مع حضور الفصول الدراسية العادية وهذا يساعد على ضمان بقاء الاطفال بالمدرسة وعدم انقطاعهم لأنه يوفر لهم دخلاً إضافياً هم فى أشد الحاجة اليه للمساعدة فى إعالة أسرهم.
وتهتم مدرسة تواصل أيضاً بتنمية وتطوير مواهب الطلاب من خلال دروس المسرح والكورال والاداء الموسيقى.
