Preparing for voluntary return begins before departure ✈️

In Cairo, 110 Nigerian nationals attended a pre-departure orientation ahead of the charter to Lagos as part of IOM’s Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration process.
The session covered key travel procedures, medical checkups and practical guidance to help participants prepare for their return, while also offering a moment to reflect on their hopes and plans for the next chapter back home in Nigeria 🌍

This activity was carried out under the MPRR program, funded by the European Union as well as the respective Governments of Denmark, Norway, Italy and Sweden and the Compass program funded by the government of Netherlands.

الاستعداد للعودة الطوعية يبدأ قبل السفر ✈️

في القاهرة، شارك 110 من المواطنين النيجيريين في جلسة توجيه قبل السفر استعدادًا لرحلة العودة الطوعية إلى لاجوس، وذلك في إطار عملية العودة الطوعية وإعادة الإدماج التابعة للمنظمة الدولية للهجرة.
وتناولت الجلسة الإجراءات الأساسية الخاصة بالسفر، والفحوصات الطبية، والإرشادات العملية لمساعدة المشاركين على الاستعداد للعودة، إلى جانب إتاحة مساحة للتفكير في آمالهم وخططهم للمرحلة المقبلة بعد العودة إلى نيجيريا 🌍

نُفذت هذه الفعالية في إطار مشروع MPRR، الممول من الاتحاد الأوروبي، بالإضافة إلى حكومات كلٍّ من الدنمارك، والنرويج، وإيطاليا، والسويد. ، وبدعم من وزارة الخارجية الهولندية في إطار برنامج COMPASS

🏥 Enhancing frontline medical response in emergencies

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population’s Critical and Urgent Care Unit, IOM Egypt conducted a specialized training for more than 60 healthcare workers across Cairo and Alexandria on managing mass casualty incidents within hospitals.

The training equipped medical professionals with practical skills in emergency preparedness, coordination, clinical response, and surge capacity management in high-pressure scenarios.

By enhancing in-hospital emergency response, this initiative contributes to a more resilient health system—ensuring timely, life-saving care for both migrant populations and host communities during critical moments.

This training is part of the United Nations Joint Programme under the Joint Platform for Migrants and Refugees in Egypt, funded by the European Union.

🏥 تعزيز الاستجابة الطبية في حالات الطوارئ

بالتعاون مع الإدارة المركزية للطوارئ والرعاية الحرجة بوزارة الصحة والسكان، نظّمت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة في مصر تدريبًا متخصصًا لأكثر من ٦٠ من العاملين في القطاع الصحي في القاهرة والإسكندرية حول إدارة حوادث الإصابات الجماعية داخل المستشفيات.

استهدف التدريب الكوادر الطبية، بتقديم مهارات عملية في التنسيق والاستعداد لحالات الطوارئ، والرعاية الطبية، وإدارة الموارد لتحقيق أقصى استفادة من القدرة الاستيعابية في حالات الضغط الشديد.

من خلال تعزيز الاستجابة داخل المستشفيات، تسهم هذه المبادرة في بناء نظام صحي أكثر مرونة، يضمن تقديم رعاية سريعة لكل من المهاجرين والمجتمعات المضيفة خلال الأوقات الحرجة.

يأتي هذا التدريب ضمن البرنامج المشترك للأمم المتحدة تحت المنصة المشتركة للمهاجرين واللاجئين في مصر، والمموّل من الاتحاد الأوروبي.
