📍 Page dedicated to our activities in the Middle-East and North Africa Give everyone a chance to build their future! 👊
Founded in 1998, PPI works internationally to promote the economic empowerment of women, men and local actors committed to sustainab
le development. PPI is the result of the growth and transformation of PlaNet Finance, then Positive Planet International, whose initial mandate was to fight poverty through the development of microfinance. For over 25 years, PPI has provided individuals and organisations with the tools they need to secure their livelihoods, enabling them to build more resilient and sustainable communities. In order to have a significant impact on their economic autonomy, PPI intervenes on three development levers:
- Access to finance, by promoting responsible financial inclusion.
- Access to employment, by strengthening local ecosystems supporting employment and business creation.
- Access to markets, by supporting actors in inclusive value chains. The Middle-East and North Africa office, based in Cairo since 2007, has been running PPI's activities in Egypt, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates, with occasional operations in other countries. Groupe SOS is a non-profit group, a major player of the Social and Solidarity Economy, and leader in social entrepreneurship. It includes 650 facilities and services, non-profit organisations and social enterprises, which undertake actions benefiting the most vulnerable, future generations and regions.
