Meet Shady, the Founder and CEO of AMWAL, a pioneering force in Egypt's crowdlending landscape. AMWAL stands as one of the earliest entrants into the debt-based crowdfunding sector, providing SMEs with accessible financing solutions sourced from personal lenders.

Driven by a visionary spirit, Shady aspires to etch his name in Egypt's funding history by revolutionizing the way companies secure funding. His journey began at the age of 14, marked by relentless hard work and a relentless pursuit of knowledge. This journey culminated in a scholarship to study entrepreneurship at Benedictine University in Chicago, USA, where he emerged as one of over 1200 applicants.

Shady's entrepreneurial spirit took root with his first startup, "Khoyoot," a fashion manufacturing venture that served as a testing ground for honing his skills in business development, creative thinking, sales, finance, and people management.

Meet Dr. Heba Al-Ashry, a dynamic force in the world of entrepreneurship and academia. As the Co-founder and Deputy Director of the AAST Entrepreneurship Center, she plays a pivotal role in shaping the entrepreneurial landscape. Additionally, she shares her wealth of knowledge as a marketing and entrepreneurship lecturer at the College of Business Administration within the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, as well as at the University of Hull and University of Cardiff.

Dr. Al-Ashry's journey is marked by diverse achievements, having previously served as the Head of Operations and Digital Marketing at the AAST Strategic Marketing Center. She holds esteemed certifications, including recognition as a Certified Trainer in Entrepreneurship by Babson College and a certified mentor by Universitas Ciputra Surabaya. A proud alumnus of the International Visitors Leadership Program, she continuously seeks to expand her expertise.

Armed with a Master's Degree in Digital Marketing from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport, Dr. Al-Ashry is currently pursuing a Ph.D., focusing on AI-enabled Digital Marketing for Startups. Her consultancy and mentorship services span entrepreneurship, marketing communication, and social media marketing, enriching the entrepreneurial ecosystem with her insights and guidance.

Introducing Dr. Ahmed Abdelhamid, a distinguished venture capitalist and angel investor renowned for his expertise in investment fund management and nurturing startup ventures. With a robust background in Science and Engineering, coupled with extensive experience in management, corporate governance, investment law, and corporate finance, Dr. Abdelhamid brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.

Introducing Dr. Maged Ghoneima, a distinguished figure in both academia and entrepreneurship. Graduating with honors, Dr. Ghoneima earned his BSc and MSc in Electronics & Communication from Ain Shams University before pursuing his passion for research at Northwestern University, where he obtained his PhD in Computer Engineering in 2006.

With a stellar career spanning over two decades, Dr. Ghoneima's journey has seen him contribute significantly to leading tech firms. He made pivotal contributions during his tenure at Intel Research Labs and later excelled as a Senior Circuit Designer at NVIDIA, amassing over 50 publications in esteemed journals and conferences along the way.

Beyond his corporate endeavors, Dr. Ghoneima has left an indelible mark as a serial entrepreneur, co-founding three startups in various domains. Following a remarkable 12-year stint at NVIDIA, he returned to Egypt to lead the Mechatronics Engineering department at Ain Shams University and spearheaded the ASU Innovation Hub (iHub) from 2013 to 2021.

Currently serving as the Strategy & Partnerships Manager at the Innovators Support Fund (ISF) and as an advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Dr. Ghoneima continues to shape Egypt's innovation landscape. His commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship is evident through his extensive mentoring of over 400 startups, delivery of innovation workshops totaling 2000+ hours, and advisory roles for 50+ startups, SMEs, corporates, and universities across the region.

With over a decade at the helm, I've spearheaded the growth and impact of one of the MENA region's most influential players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through initiatives spanning incubators, accelerators, competitions, conferences, and education, I've empowered countless entrepreneurs, startups, and SMEs across diverse sectors and regions.

Beyond ecosystem development, my two-decade journey in startup and SME realms includes hands-on family business management, founder mentoring, and expertise in entrepreneurial marketing, SME growth strategy, feasibility studies, and sales & distribution.

Rooted in academic prowess, I hold a BBA and MBA in Marketing from AAST, coupled with a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from Cardiff Met University, UK.
