MEN'S DAY 18/7/26
THEME: Legacy Builders
TOPIC: Building A Lasting Legacy
TEXT: 1 Cor 3:10_13.
KEY VERSE: Prov 13:22
MINISTERING:Pastor Gbenga Adekunle

Building lasting legacies is a serious business that our heavenly father wants us to be involved in and this is why we need to take the issue of building lasting legacies very seriously.

Building a legacy is more than the material possessions we leave behind.

Building a legacy is about making a positive impact that produces deeply, beyond one's lifetime.

What is Legacy

Legacy can be defined as what you leave behind for future generations.

A legacy represents the Values, Principle and Standard we uphold, the lives we touch, and the impact we make in the world.

Legacy is not just only about what you leave behind; it’s about the lives you touch and the positive change you inspire.

Building a legacy is a journey that requires intention, and action.

As children child of God, someone must be learning from our lives because of our impact and influence.

Someone must be benefiting from your life, physically, mentally or spiritually.

The truth is, if there is no one learning from you, it is possible that your life is wasting because we are wired by God to be a blessing not a burden!

For instance, as a lady, is there any younger lady who is saying concerning you, I want to be like that sister? I like her fire and passion.

In your life, there should be someone who would look at you and say, “Please, show me how to move; show me how to be a successfully married man; show me how to combine carrier and spirituality together, and not fail in any of them.”

A good legacy is a lasting legacy. This is the kind of legacy that you need to be striving for.

A lasting legacy it’s a legacy that keeps speaking even after you are gone. It’s a legacy that cannot be easily forgotten.
A legacy that will stand the test of time. This is the kind of legacy that Jesus left for us.

So my dear beloved, what kind of life are you living? Are you building with the future in mind or just living anyhow?

And on a serious note, what kind of legacy are you building for yourself? (1Cor.3v10-13).

As we go deeper into this subject matter of building lasting legacies,

I want you to think on the following questions carefully:

1.If you die today, would you be greatly missed?

2.What are you going to be remembered for?

3.Are you making a positive or negative impact? (1Ki.21v25)

4.Who is getting better because of you? (Phil.2v19-22)

5.Are you a blessing or a burden? (Acts 10v38)

6.When you are not around, is your absence easily noticed? (1Sam.20v18)

7.What blessing, gift, or heritage are you passing to the next generation (2Ki.2v15)

The answers you give to these heart provoking questions will help you to know whether you are building lasting legacies or not.

What do we mean by building a lasting Legacy?

1.Building a lasting legacy is about sowing one’s life as a seed for the benefit of the upcoming generation! John 12:24.

It is about sowing your life as a seed for the benefit and profit of others!

So it means, living beyond self because to live for self is to live as a slave literally!
To live for self is to live for less!
To live for self is to live for small!

2. It is leaving one’s footprint on the sands of time and eternity! You left your foot mark on the sands of time and eternity that cannot be erased!

It is refusing to leave your generation the way you met it, refusing to leave your world the way you met them, refusing to leave the people you encounter, the way you met them.

Refusal to leave your world and the people of your world the way you met them.

That was what Paul the Apostle did to the Church in Antioch. They impacted them for one and a half years until something changed and the disciples were called Christians. Something changed. Acts 4:13.

What can people take notice of regarding those who have been with you?

HOW TO BUILD A LASTING LEGACY

1.Focus on living a significant life. It is being a blessing rather than just being blessed (Pro.10:7)

Focus on others and not yourself. Become other people-minded instead of being self-centered; (1Cor.10v24).
So in what little ways can you put others ahead of you?

Focus on what you can give and not what you can get. Are you a
giver or a getter? Life is measured by donation and not just by
duration.

Whom are you giving to? Into whom are you pouring your life? What are you giving back to your society and your family? The answers you give to these questions will help you to know if you are a giver or not.

Focus on purposeful living. Concentrate on fulfilling the reason why you were created. This is how to live a significant life.

Make sure you are really pursuing your purpose and not just chasing shadow. So it’s time to begin now because No one is rich until he enriches others.

2. Living a life of impact: The life of impact is existing to make a difference, not just existing to make a living!

There are those who just exist to make a living! Making income becomes the sole objective of their lives!

Life is far more than that! When all you do with your life is to pay bills and do this and that!
Impact is living to make meaning and not just existing to make money! Impact is superior to income! Impact will bring income!

Life is designed for impact! And it is designed to be useful!
The Joy of Life is best experienced in impacting others!

Do you know that you can make an impact in several areas of endeavors and life, such as:

1.Through your family. Like Abraham did in (Gen.18v17-18).

In the way you do things i.e. by doing things differently and with excellence (Dan.6v3).

2.On Unbelievers (Jn.4v29; Pro.11v30

3.In your local church (Acts 4v34-37)

4.At your workplace (Dan.6v4; Philip.2v19)

Beloved, you must make up your mind to live a life of impact.

CONCLUSION: But I want these things to challenge you, to wake you up and say, my life must be meaningful. I must justify that God didn’t waste his time creating and preserving me.

Make up your mind to live a life of impact and influence. Give yourself to prayer consistently so you can build a lasting legacy.

MEN'S DAY 2026
THEME:Pillar
Who says men don’t know how to praise? Yesterday, our men came with joy, energy, and grateful hearts.

Watching them dance and celebrate God’s faithfulness reminded us that no matter the age, a thankful heart never grows old.

It was pure joy all around.
Thank you Jesus
