Meet Our 4th Speaker - Eng.Ali Elsayed

A Petroleum and Energy Engineer graduating in 2025, our fourth speaker currently works as a Technical Engineer at Infinity Energy, supporting technical operations and energy-related engineering projects.

He brings strong industry exposure through internships and field training with SLB, Weatherford, and Khalda Petroleum, gaining hands-on experience in drilling, well completions, reservoir evaluation, and production systems.

Alongside field experience, he served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at The American University in Cairo, contributing to work on asphaltene mitigation, cement durability enhancement, and carbon capture and storage (CCS). He has also taken on leadership roles within the SPE Student Chapter, supporting technical initiatives and student–industry engagement.

He is driven to contribute to practical engineering solutions while continuing to grow across technical and field-focused roles in the energy sector.

Meet Our 3rd Speaker — Eng. Marwan Kabil

Driven by curiosity about energy, economics, and how things work beneath the surface, Marwan Kabil is a Petroleum Engineering graduate from The American University in Cairo, with a minor in Economics, having completed his undergraduate studies in Fall 2023.

He currently works as a Drilling Fluids Engineer at Halliburton Baroid, where he has spent over a year gaining hands-on field experience. His role lies at the intersection of engineering precision, problem-solving, and real-time operational decision-making.

What sets him apart is his ability to combine technical depth with economic thinking under high-pressure environments — bringing practical field exposure supported by a strong academic foundation.

Marwan aims to continue growing as a well-rounded energy professional while taking on greater technical and leadership challenges in the industry.

Meet Our 2nd Speaker — Eng. Mohamed Abdelgawad

“Graduation from AUC was just the beginning — everything before that is preparation for the decisions you’ll make when things don’t go exactly as planned.”

Mohamed Abdelgawad is a Senior Completions Engineer at Weatherford, with over 9 years of experience working on well completions, liner hangers, and intervention operations across both onshore and offshore environments.

He is passionate about the practical side of engineering — turning designs and simulations into safe, efficient field operations, and solving real challenges under real conditions. Collaborating closely with clients and multidisciplinary service teams has been a key part of his professional growth.

A graduate of Petroleum Engineering from The American University in Cairo (Class of 2015), Mohamed has been exposed to diverse field situations that shaped his hands-on, field-driven approach.

Today, he focuses on continuous technical development, sharing practical insights with younger engineers, and helping bridge the gap between university life and the realities of the oil & gas industry.

Meet our Speaker — Eng. Amr Yousef

Amr Yousef is a dedicated petroleum engineer currently working as a NextGen Field Engineer II at Weatherford Egypt, where he performs single-completion cased hole jobs as well as open-hole liner hanger operations. He built his technical foundation with a BSc in Petroleum Engineering from The American University in Cairo, and gained valuable early experience through internships with BP and Khalda Petroleum.

Beyond engineering, Amr is a natural leader and connector. He served as President of the AUC SPE Student Chapter (2022–2023), was a long-term AUC Student Ambassador, and actively contributed to student clubs — particularly in graphic design and marketing leadership roles.

We’re excited to have him join us for Alumni Engagement Week — don’t miss the chance to learn from his journey and experience!
