شاركت سعادة المستشارة/ سارة بنت إسماعيل الشورى، المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة تنمية المرأة، في احتفالية “يوم أفريقيا” التي أقامها المجلس القومي للمرأة تحت رئاسة معالي المستشارة/ أمل عمار، رئيسة المجلس القومي للمرأة، وبحضور كريم من السيدة/ نجلاء عبدالسلام، حرم معالي وزير الخارجية والتعاون الدولي والمصريين بالخارج، ومعالي السفير/ علاء يوسف، رئيس الهيئة العامة للاستعلامات، إلى جانب عدد من أصحاب المعالي والسعادة السفراء والشخصيات العامة والدبلوماسية.

وأكد المشاركون أهمية تعزيز التعاون والعمل المشترك لدعم قضايا المرأة، وتمكينها اقتصاديًا واجتماعيًا، بما يسهم في تحسين جودة حياة النساء في الدول الأعضاء بمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي والقارة الأفريقية، وتحقيق تنمية أكثر شمولًا واستدامة.

وتنتهز منظمة تنمية المرأة هذه المناسبة للاحتفاء بيوم أفريقيا، الذي يوافق الذكرى الرابعة والستين لتأسيس منظمة الوحدة الأفريقية، تأكيدًا على أهمية التضامن والتعاون الإقليمي في بناء مستقبل أكثر ازدهارًا واستدامة لشعوب القارة الأفريقية.

H.E. Counsellor Sarah Ismail AlShoura, Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO), participated in the Africa Day celebration organized by the National Council for Women under the presidency of H.E. Counsellor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women (NCW), and in the gracious presence of Mrs. Naglaa Abdel Salam, spouse of H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and H.E. Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the State Information Service, alongside a number of distinguished ambassadors, diplomats, and public figures.

Participants reaffirmed the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint action to advance women’s empowerment and improve the lives of women across the OIC Member States and the African continent, in support of more inclusive and sustainable development.

WDO would also like to take this opportunity to celebrate Africa Day, marking the 64th anniversary of the establishment of the Organization of African Unity, and to reaffirm the importance of regional solidarity and cooperation in building a more prosperous and sustainable future for the peoples of Africa.

تعلن منظمة تنمية المرأة عن تسلّم سعادة المستشارة/ سارة بنت اسماعيل الشورى مهام منصبها مديرةً تنفيذية، وذلك اعتبارًا من 17 مايو 2026.

وفي إطار مهامها، ستتولى سعادتها قيادة المنظمة في تعزيز ولايتها، وتوطيد الشراكات الاستراتيجية، ودفع جهودها الرامية إلى تمكين المرأة في الدول الأعضاء بمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي.

وتتطلع المنظمة إلى الاستفادة من قيادتها ورؤيتها في دعم رسالتها وتعزيز أولوياتها الاستراتيجية.

The Women Development Organization (WDO) is pleased to announce that Her Excellency Counsellor Sarah Ismail AlShoura has assumed her duties as Executive Director, effective 17 May 2026.

In her capacity as Executive Director, Her Excellency will lead WDO in advancing its mandate, strengthening strategic partnerships, and driving forward its efforts to empower women across the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The organization looks forward to benefiting from her leadership and vision in further advancing its mission and reinforcing its strategic priorities.

بدعوة كريمة من سعادة السفير صالح بن عيد الحصيني، سفير خادم الحرمين الشريفين لدى جمهورية مصر العربية، أُقيم حفل تكريم بمناسبة انتهاء فترة عمل سعادة الدكتورة أفنان بنت عبدالله الشعيبي، أول مديرة تنفيذية لمنظمة تنمية المرأة (WDO).

وشهد الحفل حضور عدد من أصحاب المعالي والسعادة السفراء وكبار المسؤولين، في تجسيدٍ للمكانة التي رسختها خلال فترة قيادتها، ولدورها المحوري في ترسيخ مكانة المنظمة كمؤسسة متخصصة تُعنى بتمكين المرأة في دول منظمة التعاون الإسلامي.

At the kind invitation of His Excellency Ambassador Saleh bin Eid Al-Husseini, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, an honorary luncheon was held on the occasion of the conclusion of the tenure of Her Excellency Dr. Afnan bint Abdullah Alshuaiby, the first Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO).

The event was attended by a number of Their Excellencies and Highnesses, ambassadors and senior officials, reflecting the prominent position established during her tenure and her pivotal role in strengthening the Organization’s position as a specialized institution dedicated to women’s empowerment across OIC Member States

The Women Development Organization (WDO) is pleased to announce that H.E. Ambassador Sherif Issa has assumed his duties as Deputy Executive Director, effective 26 April 2026.

In the framework of his functions, His Excellency will support the Executive Director in advancing the organization’s mandate, strengthening institutional partnerships, and furthering its efforts to empower women across the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

WDO looks forward to benefiting from his expertise and leadership in advancing its mission and reinforcing its strategic priorities.

تعلن منظمة تنمية المرأة عن تسلّم سعادة السفير/ شريف عيسى مهام منصبه نائباً للمديرة التنفيذية، وذلك اعتبارًا من 26 أبريل 2026.

شاركت سعادة الدكتورة أفنان الشعيبي، المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة تنمية المرأة، في الفعالية الجانبية رفيعة المستوى بعنوان "حينما يقود التشريع التمكين"، بصفتها ممثلةً للمنظمة كشريك في هذا الحدث، الذي نظمه مجلس شؤون الأسرة، وذلك على هامش الدورة السبعين للجنة وضع المرأة ( ) في مقر الأمم المتحدة.

وأكدت سعادتها في كلمتها على الدور المحوري للتشريعات في تمكين المرأة، مشددةً على أن الأنظمة القانونية الشاملة والعادلة تمثل الأساس الذي تُبنى عليه المساواة والكرامة وتكافؤ الفرص، وتمكّن النساء من الإسهام الفاعل في التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية. كما دعت إلى تعزيز التعاون الدولي وتبادل الخبرات لتطوير أطر تشريعية أكثر شمولاً واستجابة لاحتياجات النساء والفتيات.

H.E. Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, Executive Director of the Women Development Organization (WDO), participated in the high-level side event titled “When Legislation Leads Empowerment,” representing WDO as a strategic partner in the event, which was organized by the Family Affairs Council on the sidelines of the 70th session of the Commission on the Status of Women ( ) at the United Nations Headquarters.

In her remarks, H.E. underscored the pivotal role of legislation in advancing women’s empowerment, emphasizing that inclusive and equitable legal systems form the foundation of equality, dignity, and equal opportunities, enabling women to actively contribute to economic and social development. She also called for strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange to advance more inclusive and responsive legislative frameworks that address the needs of women and girls.

استقبل فضيلة الإمام الأكبر الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد الطيب، شيخ الأزهر الشريف، سعادة الدكتورة أفنان الشعيبي، المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة تنمية المرأة، وذلك بمقر مشيخة الأزهر الشريف.

وتناول اللقاء التأكيد على مكانة المرأة وحقوقها في الإسلام، وأهمية تعزيز خطاب ديني وإعلامي رشيد يحفظ كرامة المرأة ويصون حقوقها، إلى جانب تقدير منظمة تنمية المرأة للدور المحوري الذي يضطلع به الأزهر الشريف في دعم قضايا المرأة المسلمة وترسيخ الفهم الصحيح لنصوص الشريعة.



Her Excellency Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, Executive Director of the Women Development Organization, was received by His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, at Al-Azhar Headquarters.

The meeting underscored the centrality of women’s dignity and rights in Islam, and the importance of advancing balanced religious and media discourse that safeguards women’s rights, while reaffirming WDO’s appreciation of Al-Azhar’s vital role in supporting women’s issues across OIC Member States.

على هامش مؤتمر «استثمار الخطاب الديني والإعلامي وأثره على حماية وتعزيز حقوق المرأة في دول منظمة التعاون الإسلامي»، عقدت سعادة الدكتورة أفنان الشعيبي، المديرة التنفيذية لمنظمة تنمية المرأة، سلسلة من اللقاءات الثنائية مع عدد من صاحبات المعالي الوزراء المعنيين بشؤون المرأة من الدول الشقيقة.

وتناولت اللقاءات بحث سبل تعزيز التعاون المشترك، وتبادل الخبرات، ودعم المبادرات الوطنية والإقليمية في مجالات تمكين المرأة، وتطوير السياسات والتشريعات الداعمة لها، بما يسهم في تعزيز الشراكات المؤسسية وتوسيع مجالات العمل المشترك.



On the sidelines of the Conference on Harnessing Religious and Media Discourse and Its Impact on the Protection and Promotion of Women’s Rights in the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Her Excellency Dr. Afnan Alshuaiby, Executive Director of the Women Development Organization, held a series of bilateral meetings with a number of women ministers responsible for women’s affairs from OIC member states.

The meetings focused on exploring ways to strengthen joint cooperation, exchange expertise, and support national and regional initiatives in the areas of women’s empowerment, as well as the development of supportive policies and legislation, in a manner that contributes to enhancing institutional partnerships and expanding areas of joint action.
