Congratulations to Dalia Ibrahim (.ibrahim.9028), Endeavor Egypt board member and the entire EdVentures () team on being named Global Investor of the Year at the Global Startup Awards 2026 — the world’s largest independent startup ecosystem competition, spanning 154 countries and over 70,000 applicants this year.

This recognition is the culmination of a remarkable journey: MENA Investor of the Year, then Africa Investor of the Year, and now — the global title. Earned at the EU-Startups Summit in Malta, it places Egypt and our region firmly on the world map of innovation and human capital investment.

But what makes this award truly meaningful is what it represents beyond the accolade. EdVentures has grown into far more than a fund — it is an ecosystem builder. Since its launch, it has supported 108 startups, invested in 29 companies operating across 25+ countries, and helped create over 52,000 jobs while reaching tens of millions of learners worldwide.

You don’t bet everything on one idea. You test a thousand, and 20 become real successes.

That’s how Fabricio Bloisi thinks about building companies.

And that’s how he went from a market with no capital, no tech hubs, and no global attention to founding Movile, betting on iFood when it had 20 people, and today leading Prosus, one of the world’s largest technology companies.

The logic is simple: stay lean, put a small team on it, test hypotheses fast, fail, adjust, repeat. After 10 iterations, maybe you have something that works. Only then do you commit more capital.

At Endeavor Week, Fabricio joined Allen Taylor to discuss why the next trillion-dollar companies won’t be built in the obvious places and what that means for Latin America, Europe, India, and Africa.

As part of XceleRise 2.0, we kicked off our latest masterclass with two exceptional experts: Maria Carolina Romero, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Consultant at the World Bank, Expert Coach at EISMEA, alongside Hasan El Shami, Venture Partner at Yellowfin Capital Partners and Investment Committee Member at Beyond Capital.

Together, they tackled one of the most critical, and often misunderstood, questions founders face: are you truly ready to raise?

In “Fundraising and the Way Forward: Where You Stand and What’s Next,” founders were challenged to take an honest look at their readiness in today’s increasingly competitive fundraising landscape. From product-market fit and team strength to governance and business model resilience, the session offered a practical framework to help founders assess where they stand—and more importantly, decide whether it’s time to raise, refine, or rethink.

Beyond the masterclass, founders also had the opportunity to engage in 1:1 sessions, diving deeper into their individual journeys and receiving tailored, candid feedback.

MNT-Halan, an endeavor company led by Mounir Nakhla, is stepping into real estate with the first hospitality tranche of the Halan AZ Real Estate Investment Fund, transforming Downtown Cairo’s heritage buildings into professionally managed stays.

In partnership with Azimut Egypt and Brassbell Hospitality, this initiative blends preservation with progress, unlocking a new asset class while helping meet Egypt’s growing tourism demand.

With plans to develop ~700 keys in 2026 and support a market targeting 30M tourists by 2030, this marks a powerful example of innovation at the intersection of fintech, real estate, and hospitality.
