COMMUNIQUÉ OF THE MEETING OF GREATER EQUATORIA UNION – EGYPT.
Recognizing the extensive deliberations held by all the offices of the Greater Equatoria Union (GEU), chaired by the Greater Equatoria Union Council and attended by the Executive Office and the Council of Chiefs, regarding the letter from the Executive Office dated September 30th, 2025, on the expiry and legitimacy of its tenure;
Acknowledging the minutes of the meetings conducted on October 5th and 9th, 2025, in the interest of the Greater Equatoria Union and its General Assembly;
Considering the urgent and crucial steps required to apply for the newly identified project, to amend the Constitution, and to carry out other essential activities;
Appreciating the constructive discussions held by all attendees aimed at fostering and promoting unity, principles, and objectives of the Greater Equatoria Union as enshrined in Article 4 “A”(a,b,c), read together with Article 12 “A”(g), Article 19 (1,2,3), and Article 20 of the Greater Equatoria Union Constitution (2018); We therefore resolve as follows:
1. The mandate of all offices under the Greater Equatoria Union is hereby extended for a period of three (3) months, commencing from October 2nd, 2025, to January 2nd, 2026.
2. An Electoral Committee shall be formed, and the Constitution shall be amended within two (2) months from the date of this communiqué.
3. All offices shall continue to conduct their activities as usual, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, including the organization of the Cultural Day.
4. A comprehensive financial report from all offices shall be prepared and submitted within the stipulated timeframe or during the report.
In light of the above, every office of the Greater Equatoria Union must strictly adhere to the timelines provided in this extension framework.
Failure to comply shall render the concerned office(s) null and void with immediate effect upon the expiry date indicated herein.
