الأسماك دي بيتم صيدها بشكل غير مقصود، لكن بسبب غلاء اللحوم في دول كتير، بيتم بيعها كأكل رخيص نسبيًا، وبيتباع منها كل الأحجام، من الكبير للصغير. النوع ده من الصيد بنسميه "الصيد العرضي" وهو واحد من أشكال الصيد الجائر اللي بتهدد التوازن البيئي والثروة السمكية
🔵 في مشروعنا عن صيد أسماك القروش والرايات، فريقنا بينزل مواني البحر المتوسط تحت إشراف أكاديمي محلي، وبيرصد أعداد الأسماك دي وأحجامها ويوثق تصنيفها، عشان نقدر نوفر بيانات حقيقية تساعد صناع القرار في تطبيق سياسات فعالة للحفاظ على الثروة السمكية
Why do we see sharks and rays sold with Tilapia and Mullet? 🐟🦈
These species are unintentionally caught, but due to rising meat prices worldwide, they are sold as relatively cheap food. All sizes are caught and sold! This type of fishing is called bycatch, and it is an overfishing practice that threatens ecological balance and fisheries resources.
🔵 In our sharks and rays catch project, our team conducts field visits at Egyptian ports under local academic supervision to monitor the numbers and sizes of these fish and document their species, providing decision-makers with accurate data to apply informed and efficient policies that protect fisheries resources.
