Living Characters | Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Latvia 🇱🇻

From September 8-17, MIHI Egypt was proud to take part in the Erasmus+ youth exchange Living Characters in Latvia 🇱🇻, hosted by our amazing partners at KALM International Trainings.

🌍 This project brought together young people from across Europe and the Mediterranean to explore storytelling, identity, and intercultural dialogue. Through creative workshops, role-play activities, discussions, and cultural evenings, participants discovered how characters and stories can shape the way we see ourselves, connect with others, and challenge stereotypes.

👥 Our Egyptian team actively contributed to the exchange, sharing their own perspectives and cultural heritage while building friendships and meaningful connections with youth from other countries.

💡 The experience was not only about learning, but also about living together, exchanging ideas, and embracing diversity. Participants returned home with new skills, memories, and a stronger sense of belonging to a wider international community.

We are grateful to our partners and to the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union 🇪🇺 for making this experience possible, and to our participants for representing Egypt with such dedication, energy, and creativity. 🙌🏻🧡

📸 Here are some highlights from this journey, moments of learning, discovery, and intercultural connection.

This project is Co-funded by the Programme of the European Union”.

Our No Hate Embassy Journey So Far 🙌🏻

Since April 2025, we’ve been part of the No Hate Embassy Fellowship, a EuroMed project uniting young people from Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Italy, France, and Romania. Together, we’ve been learning, creating, and taking action against hate speech.

From our first online webinar 👉 to the training course in Italy 🇮🇹 👉 to the launch of our Egyptian campaign (Leave Her Alone), it’s been a journey of growth, teamwork, and impact.

💡 Our campaign is dedicated to challenging harmful stereotypes about women in Egypt. Through posts, stories, and soon offline workshops, we’re raising awareness, empowering voices, and building a culture of respect.

This recap is a map of everything we’ve done so far, and a reminder that this is just the beginning. 🙌🏻

Swipe through 👉 and walk with us on this journey.
Because resisting hate is not just about saying “no” it’s about creating a society of empathy, respect, and equality.

Stay tuned for our next steps: local workshops, more content, and finally, the closing conference in Morocco this November 🇲🇦

No Hate Embassy.. 🙌🏻

Connect for Inclusion in Tunisia 🇹🇳

From 8–12 September 2025, MIHI Egypt proudly joined the “Connect for Inclusion” Partnership-Building Activity in Hammamet, Tunisia, an Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps initiative dedicated to empowering young people with disabilities through international cooperation.

This programme brought together youth workers, educators, and organizations from across Europe and the Mediterranean for an inspiring week of exchange, collaboration, and vision-building. Over five intensive days, participants:

▫️Explored the role of European programmes for young people and how they open doors for inclusion.
▫️Engaged in group-building sessions and creative activities such as an interactive treasure hunt to foster connection and trust.
▫️Reflected on “What do we represent?” deep discussions on values, diversity, and shared responsibility.
▫️Took part in open space sessions to design future projects, moving from ideas to actionable steps.
▫️Strengthened partnerships through practical workshops, mirroring exercises, and joint reflection moments.
▫️Closed with presentations, evaluations, and next steps to ensure long-term collaboration.

We are deeply grateful to Mostafa, who represented MIHI with professionalism, energy, and genuine commitment. Over the past year, he has grown into one of our most dedicated participants, securing partnerships, joining international trainings, and proudly carrying our mission forward on the global stage. His presence in Tunisia added not only to the conversations but also to the spirit of collaboration that defines MIHI. 🙌🏻🧡

As we return from Hammamet, we carry with us not only new partnerships but also a renewed determination: to make sure that youth with disabilities have equal chances to learn, connect, and lead in international spaces. 🌱

Here’s to stronger partnerships, more inclusive projects, and a future where no one is left behind.

✨ Meet Esraa ✨

From Alexandria to Vienna, Esraa is living her ESC adventure with Dance die Toleranz and Grenzenlos. Her days are filled with capturing dance classes through her camera, helping with events, and sharing the project’s message with the community. 🎭📸

For Arabic! ⤵️

From Baia Mare’s cozy streets to the laughter of kids and the smiles of new friends, Karim’s four months in Romania have been nothing short of life-changing. 🌍✨

Through the European Solidarity Corps, he shared Egypt’s culture, connected with children and people with disabilities, learned new languages, and discovered a deeper sense of independence.

Sure, there were challenges along the way but every step, every activity, every conversation became part of a story he’ll carry forever. 🧡

Here’s to growth, courage, and crossing borders not just on the map, but in our hearts.. 🙌🏻

Swipe to walk through Karim’s journey ➡️

For Arabic ⤵️

“He’s confident.”
“She’s showing off.”

Same action, two different reactions.

These double standards aren’t just unfair, they’re a form of hate speech. Subtle. Normalized. But still harmful.

In this post, we’re unpacking the everyday words we hear and sometimes say, that reinforce inequality without us even noticing.

It’s time to challenge them. It’s time to speak up. 🙌🏻

🎯 This post is part of the campaign under the No Hate Embassy Fellowship, supported by the European Commission in collaboration with our amazing partners .ro and .nutwork

Let’s rewrite the narrative together.. ✨
