IEEE AAST Alex SB

IEEE AAST Alex SB IEEE AAST Alexandria Student Branch is an IEEE-affiliated student branch that was established in 2002 by the hands of hard-working and talented AASTians.

The IEEE Arab Academy for Science & Technology Student Branch was established back in 2002 and is part of the IEEE Egypt Section which is located in IEEE Region 8. Our core purpose is to provide students who are striving towards technological innovation and excellence with opportunities for educational, technical and professional development.

Honouring our Volunteers of the Month of May.

Hard-work is not just fulfilling your duties, but going above and beyond, so we're giving our thanks and gratitude to the volunteers who took the extra step and keep giving our Student Branch its extra shine; like how Sophocles phrased it: "Without hard-work, nothing prospers."

RFZTH Day 3, competitive creativity through robotics!

The final day of the event saw our attendees building circuits, designing models, and having their embedded applications guided and evaluated by our judges. Of the applications created during day 3:

💡 Security proximity alarm box
💡 Smart length measurement device
💡 A mini explosimeter .. and other clever gadgets.

Thank you to the students who attended this edition, and special thanks to our sponsor, Makers Electronics. They have made it possible to hold such activities for students and provided components for our needs. Be sure to check them out at https://makerselectronics.com/

RFZTH Day 2, digging deeper into the specifics of circuitry⚡️

Our volunteers taught the attending students about how circuits are designed, components are attached, and how some sensors interact with the ESP32 through its programming.

The final event day will see our attendees creating their own applications in an exciting competition. Stay tuned.

Launching off RFZTH on Monday with day 1 ⚙️

In the highlights of the first day, our attendees designed their very own robot structure, and learnt about important mechanical design tips and principles.

Stay tuned for the highlights of day 2.

2/2
Recap on our UniTours Workshop by El-Sewedy for Cable Accessories!

Day 2 was dense of practical field knowledge and hands-on demonstrations provided by the company, and students had the chance to ask more in-depth questions about the tools used and the physical cable parts and practices applied in the industry.

Special thanks to El-Sewedy for Cable Accessories for honouring us with their presence, and for IEEE SAC Egypt for bringing this tremendous opportunity right to our AASTMT campus!

The importance of embedded systems shows in everything around us, and RFZTH'26 highlights this through one application: Search & Rescue.

A robot whose purpose is to find lost belongings or people can be much more versatile than big construction machines or humans. It can be made into very small sizes, easy to navigate rubble without disturbing sensitive broken structures. Its real-time sensors allow it to skillfully navigate obstacles and find people, and its wireless communication protocols are reliable and easy to customise according to any specific application, and combined it provides safe, accurate feedback, and helps make better decisions and improves chances on rescue in case of disaster.

And this is only one application. If you want to address another real-life problem through robotics, register to RFZTH and sharpen your embedded skills.
